Very solid, but I think he tops that himself when reading to his niece and manages to cram the realization of 1) His need to be a leader for that team, 2) The reason for Ted giving him the book, and 3) That he not only had been tricked into doing the right thing but wanted to do the right thing all along, into a single, "FAAAAAACK".

@@jackhovatter I love when people make the "comedy is subjective" to cover for the fact that they have a poor sense of humor. Comedy is a skill like anything else if you develop it. He's pointing out that if a basic joke made you laugh that hard, you don't have a deep understanding about the psychology of comedy. I don't care. Laugh at whatever makes you happy. I'm just explaining his POV. And the fact that you went to the REALLY tired "you must be fun at parties" bit really proves his point.

The idea that Brett Goldstein put himself forward to be Roy and he thought it was a silly idea seems insane now. He IS Roy Kent, but the flip side of seeing him on Seasame Street and him being a bit of a softy in real life just makes it all knit together so well. Also - Ted Lasso is free therapy. Series is so damned good.

Correction! The more Brett kept writing Roy Kent the more he felt he had to play the role. So he actually created an audition tape, sent it to the creators, and basically told them that if they didn't like his audition it's okay they all can continue writing and pretend he never sent anything in. Brett has also directed several episodes!
