Hines ward is my favorite receiver of all time. He gets speared after dropping the ball right in the back, looks behind him, probably smiles and pats roy on the helmet. They don't make em like they used to. I have a Hines ward card and he's catching the ball while diving completely horizontal. Full arm extension and he is historically laughing as he caught it. Him and Larry Fitz were different like that. Roy Williams was an intimidator. He'd pull off a handful of picks each season too.

That hit would've laid 99% of wide receivers out cold. Helmet to helmet, back of the head... Hines Ward looks back and does as you say. What an absolute legend. Respect from a Cowboys fan.

This the man the NFL changed and had to put rules in place for. His style of play was his own and once they made the league into a powder puff league Williams play on the field was less and less impactful. Williams in my eyes is and was the first player to suffer from not being able to play his style of football because of the rules. He never was the same player after and when he was a Bengal it showed.

I've never seen a collection of hits this hard from one player before. Some look like a torpedo being fired at a dinghy. You'll never seen a grown-ass man running full speed being instantly reversed in direction like in these hits. Regarding coverage, I do remember Williams being burned on deep balls quite a few times. The intimidation of knowing he was back there though had to be huge. I know that Madden loved him.
