It’s so encouraging to me to hear that people are enjoying my videos and finding them helpful. I’ve a few more planned for the next few weeks. Enjoy your new bike, they’re great fun to ride. Noticed from your profile photo that you’re also a Bonneville owner. I’ve owned two Hinkley, Bonnevilles, a 2017 T100 and one of the very first 790’s back in 2001. Loved that bike and regret selling it. I do like Triumphs 🏍👍

Good on ya!! You've done the right thing buying one of these. 👍😁 I'll be getting one in the next few weeks as well. I test ride the entire Royal Enfield fleet and decided this is the one for me. I'll be getting the bronze and chrome colour scheme though. Once I've sold my bike and got my hands on my new Classic 350 I'll be posting up some content on my KZitem channel as well. I'm slap bang between Saltire and AMR motorcycles, so I'm not going to be far from a service centre. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos and seeing how you settle in with your new bike. 👍

Hi Iain, greetings from Kansas, USA. Your Classic is a stunningly nice little bike. Loved the video and am a new subscriber. Shawn Smoak in Washington State, USA is in the process of getting one just like yours to add to his 12 bike collection, I think thats how many he has now. That includes a Continental GT 650, and two Himalayan's. He's been watching lots of KZitemrs who have the classic and I'll make sure he checks your channel if he hasn't already done so. Ride safe and God bless, Rob

I have just had a Halcyon Black 350 delivered this week, sat in the garage but it is a 72 reg so can't take it out until 1st Sept, so busy polishing it in the meantime, looking forward to the first run out. I am getting hooked on Royal Enfields, have owned an Interceptor and a classic 500 previously and also have a Himalayan, after 20 years of Triumphs I enjoy the simplicity and the tinkering. Nice video, hope you enjoy the bike and you sound happy on your first run with it. Good luck with it.

I’ve also owned a few Triumphs over the years, great bikes, currently waiting on a new Tiger GT Pro. The contrast between the two is night and day but both brilliant in there own way. Ride safe

I have just subscribed to this new channel and have to say I enjoyed your first ride review. I also purchased a Halcyon Green Classic in late April, the first thing I asked on collection was could the gear leaver be adjusted, the mechanic just smiled and said already done. His words were I think all are driven in flip flops in India 😂 This is the first time in 52 years I am not looking for my next bike, 1050 miles so far and the bike just gets better with each ride. I enjoy every ride and no longer worry about speed restrictions just enjoy the gentle throb of the engine. Other than the known issue with some of the first machines having a sticking speedo when they get too hot, mine is being replaced later this month, my machine has been faultless. With 3 coats of Carnuaba wax the paintwork is stunning, the cherry on the cake is 101 mpg that I have seen at every fill up. 🙂

Hi, it all depends on what you’re looking for, fast bike, slow bike, commuter or tourer. It’s a great little bike, it handles great, the brakes work well, it’s very economical and it’s so easy to do your own maintenance. As a first bike it’s brilliant unless you want to go fast. In which case you may tire of it very quickly. This isn’t a sports bike, it’s a charming little plodder. I’m lucky in that I have two other much more powerful bike that I use. Hope this helps and that you enjoyed the video 🏍️👍

I am in the market for a new(ish) bike , but at 70 years old my days of super blackbird and XJR 1300 are so far behind I would need the hubble telescope to see them! So I am seriously considering buying the RE 350 classic insteard of the 650 interceptor. Could I ask for your opinion as to the use on A roads, besides country lanes which are in abundance in North Wales where I live. Many thanks, regards, ride safe.

Hi Stuart, I’m flattered that an experienced rider such as you should ask for my advice. What can I say? Confession time, I’ll be 70 this summer (it’s only a number in my mind which should be ignored) and love riding my wee Classic 350. It put a smile on my face every time I take it out. I also have a Triumph Bonneville and a Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro, brilliant bikes which I also love riding. Going back to your question if I was to have only one bike out of my three, at the present time I would place them in the following order. 1st The Tiger 2nd The Bonneville 3rd The Classic 350 As fabulous as the 350 is, I feel I would quickly tire of it, due to it’s lack of power and always be looking for more. I also feel that as i get even older that it’s the one bike I’d like to keep and continue to use. On back roads it’s brilliant, on A class roads it keeps up with traffic but overtaking requires care and planning. I’ve never ridden and Interceptor but if I was you I would test ride both and the decide, it’s whatever feels right for you. To end, I’ve ridden on your wonderful Welsh roads a few times and absolutely loved it, just brilliant. Almost as good as my Scottish roads 😂 Hope this helps TN

@@tigerness5555 Thanks for your reply. My philosophy has always been that you are never too old to learn and to ask those who have actually "done it". There are far too many armchair experts who wouldn't know a cam follower if they sat on it! (polite version) I realise that the 350 is marginal for power but ideal where I live and also that at my age reaction times are, on average, aroung 250 miliseconds slower. Doesn't seem much, but at 60 mph that is over 20 ft additional thinking and 60 ft additional stopping distance, a total around 85 ft. Worth considering at this time, which is why I valued you comments, so many thanks for that. I think that (besides looking gorgeous) the 350 is the right choice now, even as an "only" bike. Thanks again, all the best, stay safe. Regards

@@stuartbailey9941 Hi Stuart. Did you buy one? I did. I went for the more muted look of the dark gunmetal grey. The powder coated engine cases and exhaust, whilst less pleasing on the eye will be easier to look after and hopefully extend my riding season. I've had far too many garage queens over the years that kept me from just getting out if the weather wasn't perfect. With 1100 miles on the clock (550 on the first speedo 🙄) it's loosened up beautifully. Supremely comfortable and a very capable pillion bike too. It was time for me to slow down and there's not a better bike on which to enjoy going slower, enjoying the scenery and being at one with the world around 😁

@@PhilipBallGarry I love the look of the bike and for most of my riding it would be, I am sure, superb. The only concern I have is that to travel east to NE England I have to use the A55 dual carriageway, so I will arrange a test ride first. Thanks for all your helpful comments. Ride safe, regards

I've posted this on other channels as I feel it's an issue which should be addressed - "Well I've watched this and a goodly number of other reviews of the Classic 350 on KZitem and I've now managed to borrow one overnight while my BMW is in for yet another software update. What almost nobody seems to mention in the reviews is the fact that it is nigh on impossible to change up through the gears because the gear shift lever is too low as it comes from the factory. Do you all have tiny feet or ride barefoot? Even with fairly thin boots on and size 42 feet I miss more gears than I find, as I can only change with the extreme inside edge of my boot.. As far as I can discover only an Ozzie guy called Warro has shown how to adjust the lever - you have to remove engine/frame bolts to move the footpeg out of the way, so that the gear lever can be removed from its spline! As I took the test bike out of the dealers I mentioned that the lever had to be adjusted but the dealer said it couldn't be done! As far as the rest goes the gearbox is silky smooth (when you can find a gear) and the engine is a lovely little plodder. The bike is indeed a hoot to ride (not so good in busy motorway traffic though) but RE have spoiled the ship for a h'appeny worth of tar with that ludicrous gear shift position. What were they thinking? Until I found Warro's video I had sworn that this was a deal-breaker as far as I was concerned."
@tigerness5555

Hi Alan I totally agree with you regarding the gear lever. If you wear thin trainers or flip flops as in India it’s fine. I’ve modified mine by moving up a notch on the spline and also fitted a heal and toe changer that I got from India via eBay. This has made a world of difference. As for it adjusting the lever it’s an easy job only requiring removing a couple of lower frame bolts. Good to hear that you enjoyed the bike apart from this one issue.

My dealer had adjusted the leaver before I picked the bike up in late April. I wear Forma boots and have never missed a gear change. The mechanic stated all the gear leavers he adjusts by one notch up on the spline . 🙂

Hi. it takes ten mins to adjust. Just loosening the bottom bracket is enough. I have no idea why this isn’t done on the PDI. Don’t let it put you off. Just bear in mind most of the dealers are very new to RE. Gone are the days of the old school bike shops. Saying that we’re they ever up to much:):):)
