What a memory seeing these clips playing by. I was just a child while these T28s were flown in Laos. The Pilots were seen very prestige at that time. I wanted so bad to grow up then to be a Pilot. Now I have so much PTSD seeing theses clips. I wish the clock can be turned back. I want to live at that era one more time.

Watching these post remind me when I was young back in HouaPhan Province, I saw these T28 fly by our village almost daily, my parent told us that these are our side the loyal Lao Air force they are fly by Laotian and Hmong Pilots. You are the true patriotic defender for Laos, you did not lost the war, it was the Leaders involved the war lost. Laos alway remember you. Keep post whatever you have, it is for Laotian many generation to remember.

You people definitely lost the war. Lao communists were more popular. Corrupt Lao military and Hmong people only cared about smuggling gold and opium to get money. They really didn't want to fight. Pathlet Lao forces were more serious and determined to make a more equal and fair country for all Lao people. Many Hmong and Lao military ran away to America as quickly as they could after the war like traitors. It's time to forget about them.

@@timstotts1650 are you really sure to say that? You could clearly see poverty in Laos during communist rule. Communist do so many corrupt thing than loyal did... They smuggled people's money to be their own without anybody could stop them.... Which meant they did made their citizens to be equal by made them poorer... But in fact if u take a look Vientiane in 1960 it is not kind of poor city... Anyone could express their opinion without anyone being purge like Laos nowadays Before saying such ridiculous thing learn about the conflict first!!! The loyal Laos army and Hmong fighter like general Vang Pao should not be forgotten!!

My father recalls a time where he got lost flying in the clouds and met with other Royal Laos T28 bombers. He flew along side with them for awhile and then departed. He said it was the most crazy experience ever. They didn't know his unmarked plane but was assured it was GVP's men. The funny thing was that they didn't respond to his radio call and that risk him being shot down.
@xeemnpisyuslis2089

There are only a few planes (T-28) and fewer smaller planes and all the Hmong pilots shares those 7-8 planes. How is it that your father don't know them and they don't know your father. FACTS: 1. Only a few planes. 2. There are few pilots. 3. They (Hmong) fly out of the same field, Long Cheng, ONLY. 4. All pilots at the time live together in this small "village" of Long Cheng. 5. There are ONLY one major "call tower" for all pilots and planes. 6. The area of GVP air control is about a 50 miles radius ONLY. 7. I am 100% assured you that there are NO "unmarked plane. I think you Heard stories and exaggerated a bit. 8. My question for you, is who is your dad? I am not putting him down, just confirming to see if he is one of the very few pilots GVP have. 9. The few (from beginning to end) Hmong T-28 pilots is only about 30 men, many died. A few other fly small plane. Any thing bigger is piloted by American pilots. Helicopter is by American or Lao and Thai pilots. Jet fighter planes are flown by US pilots out of Thailand and in the early years of the War, from South Vietnam, and in US Carriers from South China sea. More so, you just DON"T fly and "met with other Royal Laos T28", you start together, you fly together, you know each others, you cover each other, you eat together, you don't "flew along side with them for awhile and then departed" because of all the reasons I stated. There is ONLY ONE airport (if you can call it an airport) and that is LONG CHENG. You take off from there together, and if you don't get shot down, you come back and land together. You have no choice but fly out of Long Cheng and land in Long Cheng, if you don't get shot down, during active fighing/war. There are ONLY around 8-9 T-28 planes, the pilots share planes ONLY. They don't have their own. Everyone know each other. DoDaBLOK Yaj, you need to talk to people who are in the know. NONE of what you say is correct. There is NO Air Traffic in NorthCentral Lao where all Hmong and GVP live because there were so few pilots and plane...

According to the Raven story, the Hmong Pilots killed Viet Cong & Viet Minh more than the American pilots, the Thai pilots, and the laotian pilots. Yes, Mr. Lee Lue flow 5,000 combat missions and did not get any medal honor from the secret war, that is really sad.
@xeemnpisyuslis2089
Жыл бұрын
You are right about Lee Lue. But your statement about "Raven story," that "the Hmong killed Viet Cong & Viet Minh more than the American Pilots, the Thai pilots, and the laotian pilots" is just not accurate. First, the US pilots flew many types of "jet" planes and other planes like the B-52 and the different types of F-4, with smart bomb, with the US using over 100 types of planes and helicopters, coming from the seas, south Vietnam, and Thailand. Second, the totality of US pilots missions were thousands of times more then Hmong pilots fly the 8-9 T-28 with "dumb bombs" that GVP have. The death count, "For the period of the Vietnam War, the totals are 1,310,000 between 1955 and 1964, 1,700,000 between 1965-74 and 810,000 between 1975 and 1984. HMONG pilots has a very little part of it. It was estimated that there are about 15,000 to 20,000 Vietminh lost in the fight against GVP and the Hmong from 1965 to 1975. I think reading more and seeing the BIG picture of the Vietnam War, your first statement is both incorrect and inaccurate. One of the greatest story (to me) is the air war between US pilots who flew the F-4 Phantom (like John McCain) and some top Vietminh (and some are believe to be Russian) pilots flying the Russian Migs. Hmong pilots is great and half or so sacrifice their lives for us, BUT Hmong are NOT at the level you are talking about. Sorry Dude. Just stating the facts. If you still stand on your point, proof me wrong.

@@xeemnpisyuslis2089great points…The Hmoob’s success in the war rather on the ground or in the air was minor compared to their counter parts. But I would like to think the person who made the initial comment meant to praise peb Hmoob lub peev xwm evnthough his or her points are invalid to an extent. One can’t deny the greatness of how a small minor hill/mountain tribe came down to the valley and help defend and fought on behalf of the CIA/USA and the kingdom of Laos while outnumbered and out powered.

@BurmeseThaiBoss I believe the 'Zheng Xin' you talked about refers to the great king of Thailand who pounded your country back then and freed Thailand from evilness. The king may have had some chinese ancestors but keep in mind that he was a Thai and this had nothing to do with China. Even in this era, Thai people are grateful of the king and worship him. I, too, have great love and respect for him. I believed Thai people at that time wanted him as a king but he was flamed and killed by traitor

Let's put the name calling and bravado aside for a second, and look at things logically. The Viet Congs had the support of Communist China and the Soviets, and Laos, our biggest ally, the United States, bailed out on us. So, being in that kind of predicament, we had to do what was best for us.
