Prior to that they had scrounged some M16s from the SAS because of someone in the unit having good links with them, and used these until they wore out. A combination of top level support from 16 Brigade commander who wanted his special troops to look special and some publicity from books by members raised the profile got them their C8s. In reality there is no need for suppressed weapons doing these guys role.
@keithpringle3940

Why would you want a suppressed weapon just because you're conducting a recce in close proximity to the enemy? Think about it! I'm being very quiet, watching, listening, not being seen, what possible advantage is it to me that my rifle is suppressed? I'm not using it for anything other than looking through my susat at the enemy. By putting a suppressor on it, I've added another 12 inches of length to the barrel? Now it's harder to keep out of view! Then consider this, I'm lying there watching, being sneaky, listening, thinking I've not been seen, then all of a sudden it goes noisy, what tactical advantage do I have with my suppressed rifle? Ive got to put some rounds down, as many aimed shots as I fkn can to keep the wankers head down while me and my oppo extract. What use was the suppressor that I took with me and stuck on my rifle? A reasonably reliable weapon in the latest iteration, given the bull pup design, the most accurate individual weapon in NATO. Also, due to its design, it is wonderfully short- an attribute that supposedly benefits users in urban ops, provided they don't need to use it left handed/shoot around a corner on their left side. Moreover, given the army's penchant for fixing cold steel, the lack of length is a slight drawback. Oh and it weighs about as much a large child and looks about as appealing 40 year old geordie woman looking for Friday night's fresh meat

Raj Maj Christ Jesus, God’s messenger and son faced life with all the challenges any have but did not sin. He brought all of the prophecies written by the prophets and holy men of old to fruition. He took upon himself our sin. He was despised by men. He was executed for our sins, to over come death, to lay low the powers of evil and create a path for us from hell to heaven. He was raised from death and ascended into heaven. These are documented instances, gathered and written in a book known as the Bible. From Jesus his apostles went out into the world, a handful of men, to spread what is known as The Good News. The councils that then followed over a period of hundreds and thousands of years adopted these teaches and helped continue the work of the apostles Jesus had sent out into the world (who suffered terribly at the hands of they they encountered, they were beaten, back lashed with the rod 40 times more than once, served sentences in jails countless times, as Jesus said they would be). Their conviction to what they had experienced in the company of Christ stayed with them throughout their mortal lives and because of this has now spread throughout the entirety of this planet as Jesus himself had told his apostles it would. There is no lasting city in this world, only God’s Word that we shall be met with a more peaceful and harmonious way in the life to come. God bless.
