What they do is at night sneak up on the perimeter guards, kill them and decapitate them, then they’d stand the body up using an object and place the head on the body. When the guard shift changed the replacement would tap on the shoulder making the head roll off, leaving the guard in shock and easily able to be subdued and tied up

Like less than 10 percent of the pictures linked up to the actual regiments he was talking about and completely failed on talking about UKSF aptitude test. The SAS applicants don't do a swim only SBS applicants since its a joint aptitude test for both SAS and SBS. Even the no civilians joining the SAS both 21 and 23 SAS take directly from civilians as long as they can pass selection. Its commonly seen as a way to fast track your way into the 22 SAS since you do the aptitude test and stay with 21/23 for 18 months (Instead of having to do 2 years in regular service before being allowed to attempt for either 22 SAS or SBS) then request for a transfer to regular service in 22.

"The function of the GRUMEC is to infiltrate undetected in coastal and riverine environments in order to perform tasks such as reconnaissance, sabotage and the elimination of targets of strategic value. In this sense it is similar to the U.S. Navy SEALs and British Special Boat Service. Reputed as one of the hardest in the world, the Brazilian Navy Combat Diver's indoctrination and training methods are similar to other combat diver units such as the American SEALs, British SBS (Special Boat Service) or the DINOPS (Détachement d'Intervention Operationelle Subaquatique) belonging to the French Foreign Legion." -Wikipedia, GRUMEC. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/GRUMEC Even with only 37 men, the GRUMEC is one of the best in the world, and for amphibian assault, the Brazilian Marine Corps special battalion "Tonelero Battalion" can handle the job very easily. Note: GRUMEC is a part of the Submarine Forces, which means that a Marine Corps soldier CAN'T join GRUMEC.

The skills that video games could teach you to prepare you for the military would be things like how to clear a building and which positions are more favorable than others. Things like Warzone and PUBG can teach you to identify a hostile at greater distances. This is not to say that video games will ever prepare you for being shot at or prepare you for operating at the standards held by any military.

I'd suggest the best Special Ops are those with the most money, political backing, scientific research centres, and where their soldiers have the most (but not too much) hands on experience in the right warfare environments. Therefore, first by country, in no particular order, UK, US, Russia, China, and Israel. The next variable is where do you want them to operate in. From there you select the right unit for the right environment. For example, if you want to do an air insertion and extraction, you choose Special units from various Air Forces. If it's in the water choose the Navy. If it's primarily land based, the Army. If it's amphibious, the Marines. If it's shorter term you use Tier 1 units backed with Tier 2. If it's longer term you use Tier 2 backed with Tier 1 units. If its all out war, throw the military metaphorical equivalent of the kitchen sink in a strategic sort of way.Then If all is lost, just go nuclear. No matter how special someone is, that will wipe out the world. Who are the richest, with political backing and lots of hands on experience that can also go nuclear, UK, US, Russia, China, Israel, and now we'd include France and India.

why complicate so much? Why not simple look at their known past operations to get an idea of what they are capable to do? What has Chinese Special forces achieved till date? Are Uk Special forces single handedly capable of big operations? For example, if a country is being taken over by a coup, and their Govt held hostage, can Uk forces conduct an operation to save the Govt? Have they any experience of such ops? Just a couple of examples.. And oh yes, Russia - Killed over 200 hostages during 2 rescue attempts. And u put them in top 5?
@amante2443
3 жыл бұрын
@@jorlm2364 I'd say that's not complicated, I'd suggest it's even simplistic. Basic warfare, let alone warfare using special ops, is complicated. Regarding your comments, I'll give another simplistic overview, then comment on the UK and Russians, but I'd say you seem right with the Chinese. As mentioned somewhere else, often (but not always) the better the Special Ops, the lesser known they, their capabilities, and their past operations are. Even with the better known Spec Ops units, many of their previous operations are confidential, some will never even see the light of day. Hence, many Operators are nicknamed "Silent Professionals" as in they don't like to brag about their achievements. Considering the UK Special Forces, simplistically, I'd suggest yes. But because of numbers, they'd have to throw everything they have. Which is a terrible strategy especially when you know you have allies. Concerning examples, you've got me there. With regards to Russia, I'd suggest destroying the enemy is a higher priority for their Spec Ops Operators than saving hostages. However, I like your point with the Chinese Special Forces. Pure speculation on my part. Not only can I NOT name what they've achieved, I can't name any of their Spec Op Forces. I'm making assumptions based on the variables I mentioned. Interesting thought experiment you put forth.
@jorlm2364

@@amante2443 If you are considering the fact that most ops are Classified, then there is no need for ranking Special forces in the first place. But if Special forces are to be ranked, Past successes need to be considered to the best of what is unclassified. Considering the Uk example....I would have to disagree and say No. Why? Because neither has Uk ever performed such an operation, but they have also rejected such a request from a Govt that had been taken hostage. Regards to Russia, thats not how Special ops work. You got Tanks/Attack helis,etc if you wanna decimate everything. Special ops/ rescue ops are about "Precise firepower" and not "Maximum Firepower" And there are many hostage rescue examples to show how its done. Russian ops were a total disaster that shouldn even put them in the Top 10. I think past KNOWN ops are a great tangible and fair way to rank Special units. Over bias based of video games and fanboy docs which amplify some Special forces and ignore the others.
@amante2443
3 жыл бұрын
@@jorlm2364 I'd agree with you regarding the Russians, but when previously discussing similar issues with some Spetsnaz sympathisers (aka Russian Military men, well they all looked like men), I saw their side by viewing what it is they value. So as a compromise, I'd suggest your first sentence Regarding the Russians be: "...that's not how Special ops OUGHT TO work." I consider Spec Ops ranking like 80s discussions of what is the "best" Martial Art/Fighting Form. In this Special instance, we're all just looking at it through a lockdown lens, making couch based considerations, as keyboard warriors. Well I am at least. I believe at the end of the day, all humans are biased, but then again, I'm biased in my beliefs. I like your first point best, but all the others are also very thought provoking. In all honesty, I get tired of the "Top/Most Elite Special Forces" lists because, as you said, it's very subjective. Almost always, the lists will include Navy SEALs and British SAS, probably US Army SF as well (the actual unit, not the general term). Expect them to throw in one or two more obscure units from nations that nobody really thinks about as well. From what I've learned, most SOF units do very similar things and, for that reason, they also cross train with each other. What I do find interesting, however, is that the US seems to be one of the few nations who has (for lack of better phrasing) "tiered units", where each branch has their SOF units like the Navy's SEALs, Marine Corps' MARSOC/Raiders and Force Recon teams, Army Rangers and Special Forces (with SF actually having a different mission set from a lot of other SOF units). Then they have the "Tier 1" units that are a part of JSOC that include CAG/Delta Force and DEVGRY/ST6, while other nations only have the JSOC equivalent. The big difference being that latter seem to have a wider range of skillsets that are more focused on specific missions/operations, namely counter-terrorism.

"sas and seals" arent some measure of standard. They are famous only cause of docs and movies. MARCOS are way above SEALs if Man on Man level of training is considered . And MARCOS conduct joint training with a dozen other Special forces worldwide.

I’m American and believe the SAS are actually better trained than the seals, plus we’re just now seeing more information on them with guys like Ant Middleton and his crew over at Who Dares Wins while on the other side seals have been loud mouths writing books and cashing in on the fame for awhile. Top three I’d have to say US Navy seals #3, British SAS #2, then at #1 I’d put Delta Force as it’s a melding pot of all top special forces over the world and as everyone’s been saying in the comments the deadliest operators are the ones we don’t hear about and Delta Force is notorious for being known as the least known special operating force in the world. I agree heavily with your statement at the end regarding that at the highest level of training, it’s hard to compare these guys as whose necessarily the best where they’re amazing in different ways but I can confidently say Delta Force would be the best as they take operators from all different branches across the world and bring them together to create the deadliest force known to man!

Marcos B I apologize if it seemed like I was conveying that fact that us and uk are the only true special operation groups. I love all aspects of military and know everything you mentioned up top already and didn’t need to study them up further. Yes i may be in a bit of a bubble but I absolutely agree with all the points you made. There’s a plethora of other forces and spec-ops groups around the entire world that are some of the most badass and underrated men to serve for their respective countries.

You can’t rate a special forces unit. They are called SPECIAL forces because they specialize in different shit. There isn’t a “best” because they all do different shit.
@mcan_akpinar
4 жыл бұрын
actually no you can because special forces specialize different from their own countries's army but you can compare special forces from different countries
@direct2397
4 жыл бұрын
@@mcan_akpinar by what do you compare them tho? Its hard to compare for example the SAS who has been in service since ww2 to a special force that only has been around for let's say 20 years. On top of that, certain special forces do actually serve specific roles like SR, DA, MA, CT and the list goes on. So some you can compare like the SAS and Seals since their roles are pretty much the exact same. But i think its a very close call when it comes down to wich are the better forces. They are all legends.
