I love watching this as I am there running, Devonport # 4 axle number. Best memories of my life! I cannot have more respect for all the guys who took part whether A,B or C crew, staff or support...they were all great guys and part of one of the toughest team sports in the world. Oggy, Oggy Oggy!

Thanks for posting... years of tradition just ditched by this Labour Government in 1999 when the Royal Tournament was cancelled. And for what reason??? The field gun competition was the "Royal Tournament" and anyone who went always said that this was the highlight of the show. Donny lad

My Grandfather was in the British army during the Boer War and took part in hauling the guns with oxen I believe. He was 16.

Just spent the last couple of hours watching the Field Gun clips and I have to admit it brought a tear to my eyes. If you want to see a 6ft Man grow 4 inches in height; train him to be a Field Gunner and get a Royal Marines band to play 'Hearts of Oak' at the Royal Tournament... From a Man of Air (81' & 94' staff) to all who participated and all those who supported the Royal Navy Field Gun competition, thank you. (Mac ex AEM & Phot)...

Why do we have to have that Dippy Woman commentating. It is obvious she hasn't got a clue what she talking about.
