Just a few questions about this: 1) Which Arduino did you use (know there's a few different ones out there)? 2) Any chances you'd share the Arduino Coding & wiring diagram? 3) Sort of 5 "part" question A) How do you go about adding/ authorizing a new RFID Card (or fob) or PIN Code? B) How do you go about removing/ deauthorizing a RFID Card (or fob) or PIN Code? C) If it's possible, how do you go about adding a "temporary" RFID Card or PIN Code? D) Is it possible to require *both* the PIN Code & RFID Card to be provided for additional security? E) I assume everything I asked above (A to D) would be set within the Arduino coding? 4) How difficult was it to wire up & code? I ask these questions, because I have plans for a storage room, that will require access control into it & am looking at getting one of these RPK40s or RMK40 from eBay or Amazon, & am wondering how difficult it is to setup. FYI, the RMK40 is the exact same as the RPK40, just with the addition of a magnetic stripe card reader. Still retains RFID & PIN Code capability. ~ KN1IGHT P.S. Sorry for the late reply, for some reason your comment was labeled as spam. KZitem is not really very good about notifying you of these things. 1) I used an ESP8266 for this. Current versions are running on the ESP32. 2) No, this is not something I want to share publicly. 3a) The ESP boards include WiFi capability. User authorization lists are downloaded on an interval from a secure S3 bucket 3b) Same as above 3c) Same as above 3d) Yes 3e) No, all is possible from the S3 configuration file 4) This took quite a few weeks of experimenting to get to the point you see in the video. The current project is years old at this point and far more developed. Still just something I do in my spare time for fun.

Great work however not very secure considering your employee pin codes are stored in a publicly accessible s3 bucket

How do you change the pin?

I believe @Mitch is asking if you have a guide/ manual as to how you set it up? I too am wondering, as the title mentions Arduino controlled, so I asked on the Arduino forums & nobody knew exactly how to set it up. Do you have any information/ steps on how to setup the Arduino to work with the RPK40?

No, I don't have any instructions or information on how this was done out there. This was a 100% start-to-finish custom project done by me for fun. It may or may not be turned into a product at some point in the future. I figured this all out with just readily available information on the internet. All of it is documented, you just have to put the pieces together. HID readers use the Wiegand protocol.

Not sure what you mean. This was a custom project.
