This is one where I end up with a surprising opinion. We've always applauded kits that came with lots of tuning options. But considering the cost of this (I've spent way more, it's not really the price thing) I would think it would have been a better approach for the modder to sell these with the customer selecting the parts they wanted, like Byka did along with another company I don't remember right now. All those bells are great, but in reality any given buyer is going to use only one or two. The price could have been reduced by quite a bit. Yes, more work for the modder, but considering the parts are already on hand, no extra production cost and a much better experience for the customer.

Love the look of it, seems right up my street and I would have bought it already if they just included a 0.8 to 1.0mm pin as standard. I'm not interested at all in different bells, so for me it's basically 50 bucks for just 1 pin. Everything else seems great though, those capillary tubes work very well in the Ripley RDTA, so I like how they incorporated these on this deck. Cheers for the review Mark 😊

@@otgunztolerance variables, chances are it doesn't feel like a 1mm airflow at all, much more likely you are thinking of an advertised 1mm airflow pin, which in reality was oversized during machining and was closer to 1.1 or even a little bigger. I've had 0.8's which felt like 1mm, they aren't a loose 0.8 as that's impossible, so they must have been oversized and were more like 0.9-1mm.

Personally: a very flat chamber is great for fire cured/latakia and kentucky tobaccos. You get a drier tasting vape and sweet tones are muted heavily. I also like a flat topped chamber for vaping fruit flavours rdl in tanks and RDAs. I really like the Caspardina for vaping fruits, and the CRRNT. Muting the sweetness deals with the sweeteners that get added and I can taste the actual flavour. Back to tobaccos: kentucky is very leathery taste, and sweet notes in it don't suit it/make it overbearing. The By-ka SE for instance knocks that component right out and you can vape it all day. Same with Latakia, and the dryness of the vape from a flat chamber compliments it because who wants to vape a wet campfire? The stepped chamber is great for more reasonable tobaccos like Virginia and Oriental. Good throat hit shape, despite a very mild flavour. Also nice with cigars. Wouldn't use it for any other type of flavour. Of course you like the domed chamber Mark: it's great with custards. And just about any other type of flavour giving I guess the most true representation of a liquid. Vapehouse did a NET series of custard/tobaccos. All latakia and kentucky. Bung them in a domed chamber and they sing as the sweetness of the custard does compliment/mask/round out what I find unpleasant in the sweetness in those 2 tobacco types. There are differences in taste between chambers, but it's most starkly apparent between flat and domed. Bung in a decent fruit flavour and switch between the 2 shapes and you'll see it with a bit of back and forth. It's most apparent on a flavour like Kentucky though. It's also why custard vapers such as yourself love the Skyline R and fruit vapers seem to think it's slightly overrated. IMO.

Now that's an interesting comment, certainly food for thought and should help others 😎👍 I actually use fruit flavours when using MTL with a higher NIC but still don't notice a huge difference with the different channels but as I openly admit, I don't have a very refined palate. Thanks for sharing ☺️

It seems you can change the glass without removing the center pin, is that correct? Too many options for me i think the only thing i can get from the acessorie pack is the air pins... The bells.... Well some people can see the diference... Me.. i dont believe😔 maybe if the bells had diferente airflows😉

I wonder if you can remove the tank section upside down (like the kayfun lite ) to get access to the wicking deck without a mess?

Think about it my friend, the chimney is on tight, it stays on the deck when you remove it, try it upside down and all the juice comes out. Ask me how I know LOL

Im usually not an mtl guy but this one has my number. Super well constructed easy install, good capacity and praise from the most trusted reviewer. You mentioned the chamber size controversy and i totally agree with the sentiment. I struggle sometimes to find much of a difference in chambers and personally wouldn't offer more than a couple options unless it was an indirect airflow style or just spitting juice for being so tight. Thats the only time i notice a difference with alternative caps.... With the exception of the Trinity glass hardware cap. Theres just something crisper about the flavor from a glass hood. Super pumped that its so well crafted and that it uses a unique wicking method. would have like to see different posts for easier lead trimming avoiding hood shorts, but otherwise this tank might sit on a sbs and never come off except for maintaining & installation. A bit odd to see quality gear similar, this late in the game. Not complaining just hoping this marks the beginning of another vape Renaissance/ dot com boom. Thanks for sharing your take mark 🤙keep goosh'n plumes 💨

The stacked chamber is really better for tobacco, you can see this form also at other atty‘s for tobacco -like the Millenium or Sputnik, Vampire f.e. I want to say that I much appreciate that you are also testing for the MTL guys, even that it isn‘t your prefered vaping style.

Little bit more cotton maybe and fill it up old school, put juice in, don't tighten top cap fully tight but as soon as you feel it getting tight, turn tank upside down and then fully tighten cap and leave for a few secs. Works for me 😁

Sort of an RTA/RDTA hybrid isn't it. The Ripley had wicking pipes as well but they had to be filled with liquid initially to work properly, doesn't seem to be the case here. I am on the hunt for a new MTL RTA, sadly this is not the one. Cannot access the deck, not 22 mm, and spending an extra 50 for one pin assaults my sense of fiscal responsibility. It is pretty. Thank you.

I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before. It seems like such a novel approach that I don't even know how to classify this. They're calling it an RTA, yet, to me, its more (certainly looks more) like an RDTA... but not quite as it has a chimney. Its not really a top coiler, more like a middle coiler reminiscent of old school GTA tanks with floating decks, but I've never seen one designed quite like this. This is kind of reversed where the liquid level needs to be low enough in the bottom reservoir before you can take the top off without dumping juice (which is the biggest con that I can see) compared to a GTA where the liquid level also needs to be low enough before you can turn it upside down and take the deck out. At least with this, you don't have to turn it upside down. I kind of wish the bell cap stuck into the tank more instead of the deck as with a 5ml capacity, it looks like the top metal tank portion holds more than the bottom glass tank, or at least 50/50. This is a strange one, for sure, especially since they went with the weird size of 23mm instead of 22mm or 24mm, but I certainly like the looks of it, and I'd expect the vape quality to be stellar with under coil airflow and the coil being so close to the mouthpiece. Great review, as always, Mark.
