Hi everyone! Sorry for the inactivity over the past few months... I am currently working on my next tutorial as I write this. I am going to be building a little Star Wars app with Express.js. Can't wait to start posting more content :D

I rarely comment on any videos but thank you so much for making this a breeze, for years I have picked up and dropped many programming languages due to esoteric tutorials or books that require me to be a genius at programming, this has made learning Ruby on Rails pretty fun and easy, keep up the good work!

Great great video series. I am trying to create something very similar but want to pull data from the GoogleBooks API so that users don't have to enter in data themselves. I am trying to use a form with hidden_field_tags to create my Book. However, in my Books_Controller in the Create action, I am getting an error that "param is missing or the value is empty: book". I can see the parameters in the error and all of the parameters seem to be there. I've searched online in forums and can't find very much. Any samples or suggestions on using hidden fields and passing them into a form?

Hi Ryan, I have just completed the project and I have an amazing application with user authentication, image upload, book ranking and average, super styling. This is a high standard tutorial and I recommend serious beginner to dive right in. Watch out though, Ryan is using rails 4.2 and take that into consideration when downloading Gems. I also ran into problem with the paperclip Gem as I am using cloud9 IDE. That said, I am a beginner and I sorted these issues. If I can, anyone can ! Thanks again, now I'll dive in your 'Message Board' project. Your explanation are so crystal clear that I might even consider Express.js tuts !

Ryan, why not just create a resourceful route all the time? In other words, what if anything, dictates when to create separate routes as opposed to creating a single line of code with a resourceful route? Obviously, a single line a code saves time so are there situations when this would not work?

After going through the whole process again, I found a fix. (running windows 10 if this help someone else) If you are getting errors (even before bootstrap) then do the following... Add > gem 'coffee-script-source', '1.8.0' < (without the arrows) to your gemfile Run command > bundle update coffee-script-source < then restart your server. Link to where I found this! stackoverflow.com/questions/28312460/object-doesnt-support-this-property-or-method-rails-windows-64bit

+Meta Physiker Hello friend, i have exactly the same problem and i spent hours trying to find out where the problem was. I knew it that bootstrap is the problem but still cant figure out what im doing wrong. For instance, after google search, i read that you have to put sockets first like : @import "bootstrap-sprockets"; @import "bootstrap"; in your application.css.scss file but still doesnt work. Can you tell me what have you done and worked? Thank you!

Hey Elijah, I was facing the same problem. Go to your application.js file in javascript. Comment out the two import lines. And make sure you have "//= require jquery_ujs" in your file just like "//= require jquery". That fixed the problem for me.
