Take it apart one more time, look inside the metal magazine throat. There is a little ridge caused by the mold when this piece is cast, it will catch on some rounds and cause them to get stuck in the throat. Just a little file and polishing/steel wool will reduce that ridge and you will never have a problem. Not lubrication, not the follower rattling around. If the rounds get caught in the metal throat, that’s your issue.

2nd Amendment Molon Labe After you do the oil you can try filling it and then manually cycling the action till the mag is empty. You may have to do this 2 or 3 times but it should work after that.

For me it wasn't the bag, but movement in the plunger which holds the rear of the mag. Mine was not snuggly being held in place. When I took the stock off and put the mag in, I could wiggle it and see that the movement was in the plunger. I decided to get the Kidd "improved" plunger and their extra-power spring which fixed the problem.

@@Foxxy11256 I bought a KIDD plunger and spring also. Fixed it. The factory spring is fine with the BX10 magazines. I think it's just too weak for the extra weight of the larger magazines. Also if you hold a BX10 and a BX25 next to each other. The BX10 is bigger and fits tighter.

I purchased a brand new Ruger 10/22 and a new "RUGER" BX-25 mag expecting quality, reliability and durability. I got it with the gun, but not with the BX-25 magazine. I would reckon that Ruger knows they have a problem with the BX-25, but they have done nothing about it. Some new lawyer will get a hold on this if they do not fix it soon. Ruger, really. Seems alignment is usually the issue, not saying your problem wasn’t legit, but oiling the cold spring will collect dust, dirt, GPR and could possibly start sticking in cool to cold weather. You may want to dust lightly with a dry lock powder. Good find anyway.

It's a Ruger poor design issue. That is the problem. They are ok with making and selling junk apparently . Everyone including me has this issue with the 10/22 and Ruger's own 25 round mags . It isn't the ammo or any one rifle if every 10/22 they sell does this. What a shame a company sells such inferior products. Hell the rifle itself is like buying a half working car then having to add and change a bunch of parts to make it useable and reliable. I regret buying a takedown. I have done almost every mod to it to just get it to the same standards as other brands out of the box. Now I have to fix brand new mags to get them to work. Total junk company. They replaced High Point and the old Taurus in low quality and design imho. Once you throw a ton of money, time and repair into a brand new 10/22 they are a blast. Too bad Ruger has lost their ethics and way selling broken stuff. I really wanna love them like everyone else does but how can you like a company that puts this crap out? I'll try what you said on my mags but it seems the casing mod is the most reliable fix.
@Foxxy11256

It's really never a good idea to put lubricant in a magazine. Don't doubt what you're saying but it's a band-aid and lubricant in a magazine will eventually cause other problems. Better to just have Ruger replace the whole thing.
