@@IloveTide1997 Funny thing, the AC-556 was one of the candidates under consideration in the Small Arms Replacement Project (SARP) that the Canadian Forces began in the late 1970s. The SARP sought to replace Canada's then-extant inventories of FN C1A1 (FN FAL) rifles. The AC-556 wasn't selected, and the CF ended up with a licence-built, product-improved version of the M16A1 that was designated C7 in Canadian service. A1 and A2 improvements followed. The CF are currently in the process of selecting a replacement service rifle. It's not yet clear if the replacement will simply be new-build, improved versions of the C7A2, or something else.

@@LegacyArmsIntl that was the coolest thing I heard in a while. It makes me actually want to catch up on old re-runs of the A Team tv show. I just liked and subscribed, thank you! I will say that I don't like this gun at all; The barrel is too short (1), The silver is a give away, and must be black (2), The wood should be replaced with black, heat - resistant polymers (3), and there should be a foregrip under the barrel (4), and a flash hider/suppressor/muzzle brake on the end of the, at least 16" barrel.
@Real_Richmond_510
Жыл бұрын
@ghostwriter1415 why ? Why would you want " at least 16" barrel "? With 13.5 it doesn't fall into sbr category since the stock is not telescoping, so that can't be an argument, and as far as accuracy goes, the added 2.5 inches won't even be noticeable up to 200yds.... so what are you going on about?
@caswinson
Жыл бұрын
@@Real_Richmond_510you are absolutely wrong. If the barrel is under 16 inches, it’s an SBR. Maybe he wants it to be A-Team accurate? They used stainless mini-14s with factory folding stocks. Not the AC556

Didn't know until just recently that the one David Soul's character Michael Platt used in the 1988 made for tv movie 'In the Line of Duty: The FBI Murders' was an AC-556 (Hollywood glorification) as in reality, Platt used a base model semiauto. There was another made for tv In the Line of Duty in 1991 with Rod Steiger and his character used a base model semiauto Mini-14. There's a couple AC's on gunbroker around 9-10 grand.

I concur, shorter barrels on the old Mini 14's is much better. I cut mine down the 14.5 inches and pinned, welded a quality flash hider for an over all length of 16inches. It's a consistent 2MOA shooter even with a hot barrel. Funny how I see people buy $100 accu-struts when all they had to do is take a few inches off the old 18.5 inch pencil barrel.
