This is actually my primary carry gun. I love how light it is. When it’s in my pocket I barely feel it. I’d prefer the 380 version but ammunition is impossible to find. I think with proper shot placement 22LR is sufficient plus it’s the only ammo I can regularly find in stock.

You're better off with a Keltec P32...the LCP II .22LR can NOT manually extract a round from the chamber with a loaded magazine inserted, it only comes halfway out before it slips up and over the extractor and then it jams up the slide action. This will get you killed if you need to clear a dud round.
@crankygunreviews

I've never had an issue extracting. When I used good ammo, it runs almost perfectly. If not, I have a pocket knife on me to clear the stuck round. I do NOT primary carry this, it's a backup when I carry it. I am confident enough that I could carry it, but I prefer a 380 at least as a primary.

@@jh8338 yup, I had the same problem. The barrel drops too low when it cycles. When I flipped the gun upside down it manually extracts fine. I cut a piece of a 1/16” thick silicone o-ring about 1/4” long, and put it between the barrel slot and takedown pin, and it solved the issue. It keeps the barrel from dropping too low. You need to reassemble the gun upside down, but once together, the 0-ring piece cannot come out.

I really like this gun and had excellent service from Ruger because mine came with some flaws as follows. Purchased about a month and a half ago , and initially had several issues, failure to feed, not ammo friendly at all . jamming constantly. After putting several hundred roundds through it decided it was time to contact Ruger. Please remember to clean and oil this gun regularly it is very important with the >22LR. Initially they replaced the Barrel and test fired it and returned it to me. I took it to the range and had not as many but similar issues, light primer strikes, failure to feed etc, I sent it back a second time and they replaced the slide stop and spring, hammer & hammer spring. Got it back and put two hundred rounds through it with no problem, I cleaned and oiled it and ran another 200 rounds with one ammo misfire which was a ammo dud. There is also a performance spring kit from galloway available and Mcabo which I havent needed but wanted to out out there, I have heard that other owners have installed these with success.I havent I let Ruger make it right. Excellent service from Ruger! hope this helps. Also if available use good ammo. I use Federal .22 Lr Copper Plated Round Nose 40 Grain, I also use Armscor 40 Gr, & CCi 40 Grain. I use Shooters Choice Polymer Safe Quick Scrub made for polymer and Hoppes lubricating oil. I have found the Elite Holsters to filt this well the IWB & Ruger actually gives you a pocket holster with the gun.

This LCP II .22LR model will NOT manually eject a round from the chamber with a loaded magazine inserted. The top round in the mag pushes it upwards, causing the rim to slip up and over the extractor and leaves the round only halfway out of the chamber, which then jams up the slide action. This will get you killed if you need to extract a dud round in a SD situation. Ruger needs to recall these.

Use at your own risk for that purpose. If you use good quality ammo, it has few problems. Practice clearing duds and it will help. Too much at the end about other guns and the holster. Review the LCP .22 and leave the other guns out and what fits the holster.

Yeah I took mine off and never put it back. It’s a mass compliance thing- for some reason they all have it

It would be the best out there.....IF Ruger had not brought the "screw the lefties" people in on the design. Can't swap the mag release. So........I've gone elsewhere.

Yeah not all guns are left hand friendly. It’s a good shooter, too bad you can’t enjoy one.

This gun is the biggest fail that ruger has ever produced i had one when it was first released and it worked about half the time with all kinds of ammo sold it waited a couple of years bought another one and I thought they would have fixed some of the problems by now ,,and this one is much worse i have 5 mags and it wont get thru one mag without jamming light primer strikes fail to eject you name it this gun does nothing right so buy this thing at your own risk

That's not the experience I have had with mine. I have done several ammo test on video, and usually only the Winchester has issues. Most others run it as well as any other semi auto .22 micro pistol.

It's too bad that only Saturday night special companies like Pheonix Arms still make .25s. I would love to have an excuse to get a new set of dies and start loading those tiny things!
