8/8 🤗 A short story: Growing up as an Appalachian, I always knew in my subconscious mind that the speech I'm hearing is not correct. Someday, somehow, I will learn to speak correctly. After joining the military in 1968, I met a great philosopher who asked me; "do you understand the ******* words coming out of my ******* mouth..?" So, the old question of, "what is the meaning of life..?" * Learning to Articulate is a great start. ✌️

What is the technicality of the use of the comma in quiz sentences #1 and #8? Should this comma be omitted?

I have a question About the first one "I like cats they are cute" Couldn't you just use a conjunction word or a comma between cats and they? Please answer back😁
@SparkleEnglish

You couldn't use a comma because that would be a comma splice. You could write "I like cats because they are cute" or separate it into two sentences. You could also add a semicolon. I like cats; they are cute. :)

I answered all 8 questions correctly. I was unsure about number five, but your explanation cleared up my confusion. Even though I am a native English speaker, grammar has been my life-long nemesis. Thank you for these instructional videos; you're a skilled and talented teacher!
