Hello I have a question please for histopathology being a run through program, after finishing the core training meaning ST1 and ST2 in this field from what I've read, I can choose to either stay in the UK and see if any opportunities for ST3/4 are available or I can continue my subspecialty elsewhere? Thank you:)

Great video. Thank you doctor. Also could you please tell something about aerospace medicine specialty and the chances of getting it as an IMG.
if i choose for the uncoupled option, then do I need to apply for a new job every year to get into subsequent CT levels? I'm asking this because on the NHS job site when I search for a CT 1 job in general medicine, it says that the job is available for a fixed term of 1 year. So do I need to apply 3 times for a core training job to reach the CT-3 level and complete my core medical training. Kindly clarify my doubt.

You'd be able to enter CST if you weren't overqualified, but aside from that, you could look for non training jobs.

Thanks for the video! Here in Brazil ENT is a 3 year run-through speciality. If I decide to move to UK, will I start as a ST3 or in a non-training post? Do I need to be recruted as a doctor who just finished the Core Training? Thanks a lot!
@RoadToUK

If you aren't over qualified for core training (more than 18 months experience in a surgical rotation outside of internship), you can apply for it. In order to apply for ST3, you'll need MRCS and the alternative competencies signed off, which can be done via a non training job, and you'd also get an idea of the UK system. I'm an Indian medical graduate, I have finished my MBBS and my internship in India... What will be my pathway to become a radiologist or have an MDRD degree equivalent in UK?
I will finish the internship year (1 year) in my home country and PLAP exams and get GMC registration but i have no experience more than internship. I did not take a job after internship in my country So what type of service jobs i should apply for in UK? What level? CT1 or FY2 or FY1 or what do you recommend? And thank you so much
Can I apply for training if I am currently full time PhD student?

Hello Dr. Ibreez, thank you so much for making these helpful videos. I have a question, I am interested in internal medicine training also. After 3 yrs of imt can we take a few months break like 3-4 months break? And start our desired fellowship like cardiology, neurology, hematology etc after the few months break?
@RoadToUK
Жыл бұрын
Yes you can, but that break would have to be in some form of employment if you want to stay in the UK. The only way around that would be if you have indefinite leave to remain (ILR). You can obtain that after 5 years in the UK.

Hi, i am an indian and have completed my internship from china in 2018 may, and after that i have a 2 year gap and was preparing for indian PG , but could nt make it.Now i am focusing on PLAB. Does this 2 year gap without work matter in getting GMC done or in getting FY2 jobs? Even now due to lockdown here, i cant even attend any job interviews till the situation gets better, so i dont know till what extent the gap moves.I am very much worried on this. Please help.

You'd need to actually graduate, as in all of your final medical exams have been taken and passed and then you can appear in PLAB 1.

Hello doc, i have done my fcps anesthesia pak and its a gmc approved qualification so after IELTS n gmc registration i will get enter into ST3 speciality training or will enter into core training St1 plz tell.
@RoadToUK

To enter into ST3, you'd need the alternative certificate of competencies signed to show that you have ST1 & ST2 level competencies. In order to achieve that, you'll have to work in the UK in a non training capacity for some time first.

Or pre graduation internship from respective college is acceptable in uk to get into fy2 directly? And can u plz clarify about MRCS , Is it mandatory to pass mrcs before going in run through program for surgery ? Or we can directly get into run through program after fy2 ?

There is no difference for the application process if you're an IMG or not. It's equal opportunity.
