Hey Alkan. I'm experiencing something simular to what you're explaining. I fucked my knee up during a (european) football game last sunday. I still can't walk, so I'm using crutches. I'm waiting for an MRI-scan. I haven't got a time for it yet, and I'm kinda in a hurry for it, because I'm supposed to be a football trainer at a football school in a few weeks, and they're going to bloody fire me, if they don't get an answer to wether I'll be ready enough to train or not. But luckily yours seem to be not as bad, since you can already go to the gym, when I can't walk. Best of luck on recovery!

ACL is the anterior cruciate ligament, it gets torn fairly common in games like basket, soccer, football... You can test it (or someone else can do the test on your body), if you want to make sure it isn't broken. Try to move your lower leg to the front relative to your upper leg. If there is significant movement from your lower leg relative to your upper leg-> acl is torn and you should visit a orthopeadic surgeon to fix it :) hope it helped

Hey Alkan, Im from ontario and went through ACL surgery - Just go see a doctor about it. My surgeon was able to determine my acl was torn without an MRI. Also, MRI`s are 100% covered under ontario health care

In terms of training vs. sports, I have been training as a powerlifter for years now, but I have never played a sport past the recreational level. I actually prefer lifting over other sports because it is not talent based, only consistency-based, and you get out exactly what you put into lifting. The same cannot be said for other sports.

I'm with you on the working out over sports thing alkan. I played baseball my whole life and I was only kind of dedicated to it but once I graduated and put all my energy toward working out I found more enjoyment out of that than the actual sport itself.

My sport is cross-country. I recently fell running on a trail and had to get 10 stitches in my knee, so I can't run for 10 days. This made me cry, I'm not even gonna lie about it. However, I can still lift basically everything except stuff that bends my knee. I feel you man.

I'd say its not a flaw because although they sometimes over dramatize it, almost 70% of the time it seems to be a really bad/hurtful injury. Especially on really quick dribblers like neymar, people literally step on his foot to prevent him from moving. Its the equivalent to maybe putting the opposing person in a head lock as the ball is coming to them. And the ref only usually makes the judgement call on whether the block was "too strong" (for example, using your whole body to block the guy, as opposed to using your whole body to get the ball).

Alkan I've had surgery on my knee twice due to sports injuries, I popped the bone straight out that is next to the mcl/acl, stop doing exercises before you cause significant damage. One wrong twist or turn and that can become a injury that will prohibit you from ever playing sports on a team again

I don't play any sport and only lift, just don't go full beast mode in your early years, arthritis is a helluva pain. torn ACL is a really common injury and is easy to injure it later on, few of my friends had that happen and they stopped playing sports for good. Get a knee brace and ice it/hot baths help. and it takes your muscles around a 3 weeks before you start to lose mass. also i shall be getting 96 woodcutting today, dem gainz!

The ACL is the anterior crucial ligament, there are 10 strings that hold the shin area and the femur together. Its very bad if you tore all 10 and you would need surgery, and stay on crutches for like 2 months.

So the point of an MRI is to see if there is damage, in which case the only way to fix an ACL or MCL tear or anything is surgery and even then it may not get completely better... If it is a tear then it will not heal on its own...

A month ago was the final Tennis match of the season, and i live in Ohio. And if you live up north you know the roads are utter shit from the drastic changes of the seasons. So our tennis courts arn't any exception and being that my school is too poor to even fix the leaky roofs: we were doomed with shit tennis courts. On my last match i was playing doubles and i was playing front and went to return the volley when i stepped in the fucking Grant Canyon of cracks. I wasn't aware of the danger i was in and all of my body weight was on the right leg, the same side i stepped in the crack. All i hear is an echoing crack and i drop on the floor. I somehow manage to finish the set, limpy as fuck. When i got home i was physically drained and passed out for an hour or so, upon awaking i find my ankle to be swollen up like a balloon and i wasnt able to walk on it, i was scarred that it might be broken, i went to the doctors office and found out it was just a severe sprain. Im now cautious AS FUCK on the court, which is ridiculous. I should be able to enjoy tennis but since my school will only fund anything associated with our football team, im shit outta luck.
