It’s the melody. It’s the same kinda music theory a lot of Pierre Bourne’s beats have with Playboi Carti songs. The keys and the notes combined with certain synth sounds give off feelings of nostalgia and sadness and happiness simultaneously. This is why People love “Playboi Carti type beats” so much cuz the melodies play with your emotions. Tyler used the same technique for this song and not by accident either cuz he understands how sound works.
