I like the angle this was taken from, it makes you feel like you are right in the cab, yet you can see the surroundings also. Are those straight-air brakes or automatic air?

You are driving it? R U from Britain? There is no steering wheel in the cab, trucks and cars get driven. Steam Locomotive engineers RUN their engines, hence they are called Runners. As you are learning, it is a finely choreographed balance of throttle, valve adjustment, adding fuel, adding water, and maintaining steam pressure. Running a steam locomotive is an almost lost Art, glad to see you young men interested in taking it up rather than being video game commandos.

I know it’s running. Sorry to say for the general population would consider running a steam locomotive as driving it. I definitely have a lot to learn. It is an art and it takes time, just as with any skill.
