Just what I needed in starting off my raised beds in our new house. Are irrigation brands standardized?

Can you please do a video on nut sedge ? I asked at a garden center and they said the only way to get rid of it is to move. 😂

It is SO difficult! I had a lawn care company spray for the last 2 summers and I swear it is worse than it has ever been. I’m going to spray it myself this time with Image. Good luck getting rid of yours.

I’ve found the only thing that actually works is to dig it up … the bulbs of the plant is typically at least 6 inches below surface.

@@marionnixon817 thank you I’ll try it. I’ve had some luck with sedge hammer but so expensive. 20 dollars and it makes one gallon. Also has to be sprayed within 24 hours.

Great information! I’m so intimidated to try this. My front bed had 1/2” tubing (with inline emitters) that had to be replaced. I used the same but the emitters are further apart. All I could get last year during the severe drought we had. It’s just not producing enough water to the plants. I’ve hesitated to tie into it with added emitters but I think that’s the only option. This line is attached to our sprinkler system. I am or was just afraid adding the emitters would reduce the amount of water going to the rest of the tube emitters. It’s certainly worth a try and if it doesn’t work I can remove it and replace the original tubing per your information. 🙂 Really appreciate the video! I need to do this type of system in my backyard attached to the faucet with a timer.

I desperately need to move to drip in my garden but it stresses me out every time!!! I hope to be as confident as you! Is there a kit you bought or did you buy individually?? Your garden is looking beautiful 😊
@shesamadgardener

I bought individually as I felt like the kits were limiting …. It helps to draw out a plant of where you need drip!

I’ve changed my set up for drip I used to have one long brown drip line however I noticed that the longer it is the less pressure there is so instead I’ve used the 1/2 inch tube going vertically (shorter side) and max 8 feet of emitter tubing across the bed and it’s worked way better

Good evening. You are such a good teacher in how to do drip irrigation and how to solve the many problems one may have. Your memory is amazing as to where all the drip lines are and where they go. Looking forward to seeing what plants go into what raised garden bed. Enjoy the job you did and have a wonderful rest of your day.

Great video, it was the bees knees. My mother has a big garden and I put in a drip irrigation system for her a few years back. We have a front garden with four flowerbeds, fifty two pots of perennials and six pots of annuals on the front windowsills. We use watering cans to water the pots and the flower beds. My wife has no interest in gardening and tells me the garden looks like a mini garden centre. I find it very calming to water the plants with a watering can while I can but I know as I get older I will have to reduce the number of pots and put in a drip irrigation system in the flowerbeds.

How ironic I was just wondering when you were going to put out your drip tubing video. How is yours hooked up; a water spigot or water sprinkler system?

I wish I had drip set up. I ran a drip hose to the front bed so that while I'm hand watering the back its getting watered, but it would be so nice to not have to go out and water :)

One tip for the brown drip tubing, I found that if you're somehow able to connect it back into the system then you don't run out of water pressure. At the end of my run in the bed, I tee it back into another party of the same drop tube. Works great! I know I stretch my drip tubing way more than it probably likes to. Drip is such a pain but well with it to not have to stand out there for two hours getting bit up 😂
