Living in humid environments, mold is a fact of life. I life in FL and our sidewalks and patios get absolutely green. A pressure wash a few times a year takes care of that. Black mold appears in humid rooms like the bathroom & laundry room. I think I made a study of mold when I first moved in because I freaked out but it is easily cleaned.
@ykn9424

If I’m not wrong, Korea and Japan have similar weather. I live in Korea, and most houses and apartments get mold during summer. So might not be necessarily because of water damage. It just appears like that everywhere. Lol. Just need a dehumidifier and buy mold remover
@SonshineLady7

It's the same where I live in Central Florida in the U.S. Our weather is so humid; I think our state invented mold. This area has more old oak trees than palm trees so the cement walkways and patios in our apartments get green mold very quickly. About twice a year the manager pressure cleans them.

OMGoodness I got the giggles with the garbage map. Wow. That’s awesome. So many details! But seriously how cool! Barely anyone around here recycles. It’s quite sad. Love please don’t store your food in the fridge with the pot. Metals and or if it has Teflon can leech into your food. Glass... is perfect for storage. Large mason jars are great for that. Plus you don’t want to reheat your food over and over. What a large place! I love Japan. I wish I could live there. I adore the culture. I adore the curtsies they expect from each other. When I met my husband I had my living room table set up just like your dinning table. I was 22 when I met him. He walked into my home and asked if my mum was coming home in time for dinner. I laughed. No why? He’s like wait. This is your home? I was like sure is? Why? He’s like it looks like an older adult lives here. I was like. What did you expect? He’s like at your age... sorry but way less than what you have. I was like... I don’t know if I should be happy or feel insulted. We’ve been together for 19 years. Married for 16.

That is unbelievable value, relative to basically anywhere in the US. From what I have seen in Japan, most places are downright claustrophobia inducing. As far as what I've personally seen from Japanese apartments, you have the biggest place. I mean, I'm sure bigger places exist, but they seem relatively rare (outside looking in, of course). Now, I am not sure what you make out there, but for how little your rent seems to be, I'd definitely look into getting that ceiling fixed. Looks potentially hazardous to you health. Also, you totally have enough room to play with. Defy the JP norm of not having a dryer. They are super handy! Great video. Gives me hope that I could possibly not have to live like a sardine in Japan one day.

Yeah they're a bit harder to find in most houses/apartments in Japan, I suppose if you had the space and funds though you could have one installed.There are some more western housing options depending on where you go that may already come with things such as an oven, but they are definitely more on the expensive side. Although tbh I live in America and when my family moved we didn't have one either, I miss baking so I get what you mean! lol (TwT)

Toaster oven,, or a convection oven can do almost everything that a full size oven does... on Christmas in Japan, the tradition is to eat fried chicken, if you can believe it! Christmas is also seen more as a couple's holiday rather than a family holiday. If you were feeling "natsukashii" (nostalgic), I'm sure there would be other ways to explore typical American Christmas traditions... you'd probably be harder pressed to find a Christmas ham to roast than you would finding somewhere to roast it!!
