Glad they treated you right man and it's been so cool to watch you go from literally cutting an Atlas 3.0 in half to enjoying the Atlas 4.0 (I totally agree btw the internals are honestly hard to even compare to teh 3.0). I've said it from the start and I'll keep saying it, Rurocs #1 aspect they have going for them as a company is that they listen to what people ask for. Seeing the progression of them from making snowboarding helmets to now with the Atlas 4.0 is has been really awesome.

I love my 3.0. Due to my odd shaped nut, the 3.0 fits much better than my Shoei, AGV, or Bilt. I notice the padding seats on, and contacts all my skull, not just a few places. The AGV can only be worn for about 1 hour, before the hot spots drive me batty, same with the Bilt, which also squeezes my cheeks like a vise. The Shoei fits well, but the vision window is less....for me....than the Ruroc, which I can barely see in my peripheral. Wind noise doesn't bother me, as I used to wear a half helmet for most of my riding life. What I am pissed about, was the money I wasted on the Shockwave, after being touted as the best audio ever! After giving it 6 months to change my mind, I tossed it and clamped on a SENA with the Bose speaker upgrade. Night and day in sound quality, ease of use, and features needed for rider comfort. While the concept is cool, with the system tucked away inside the helmet, the application sucks. Impossible to manipulate the power and volume buttons while wearing gloves and figuring out what is which and how to twist your gloved hand upside down and behind your head to make any changes. The intercom is expected on a system like this, but to be able to ONLY talk to another Ruroc 12" away? Stupid. I also had to use and custom cut the strongest 3M tape pads that secure the camera mount (which is very cool BTW), in order to be stronger while holding the Go Pro. The factory pads are just too thin. Oh, just a word of caution for anyone buying the light sensitive Pinlock. The clear visor is made of UV blocking material, so the Pinlock will NOT receive an adequate level of UV rays to darken completely. It will shade down noticeably, but cannot get really dark. This is normal for nearly any visor of any helmet. Finally, while Ruroc will sell you overpriced rubber plugs that go into the vents (from the inside) to quiet them, you can do the same thing with some dense foam and a sharp blade.

You just made me seriously consider this as my next helmet, coming from an Arai I find them quite loud and heavy. I put heavy consideration into safety which is why I've gone with my Arai but with this being ECE 22.06, this is is making me reconsider my possible next helmets. Also to touch the SNELL standard, I leave in Asia so it doesn't really apply to me. However, I've also seen FortNine's video about the Snell Standard and (imo) I find the Snell Standard lacking. The ECE testing is much more rigorous than Snell testing method. Simply impacting singular parts of the helmet doesn't seem comprehensive to me, the ECE testing looks to hit multiple spots similar to what happens during a crash.

Thanks... I feel like a dope for saying "None of the big creators were there" that was me being like a simple minded person and I should have known better as a creator. Just because I didn't see the people I knew didn't mean others just as if not more recognizable by others weren't there. I think I fell into that mindset because I asked why the few names I knew weren't in attendance but then never asked if others WERE. Then after that convo I spoke with a few smaller creators that I did know of and also met a bunch of non-creators who were there as fans of the brand. I thought it was an awesome event and I wish I spent more time trying to figure out who else was at the event. All that longwinded nonsense aside, I do think this Atlas 4.0 is incredible.

@ Gears and Gadgets, I have an ATLAS 2.0, and it's starting to fall apart from the inside. I was looking at the ATLAS 4.0 and was waiting to see if RUROC came out with a 5.0 this year for 2023. I found out that wasn't going to happen. So, needless to say, I was bummed. I just purchased 2 SHOEI RF 1400's. I haven't received them yet but will later this week. I'm looking forward to trying it out. If RUROC had come out with ATLAS 5.0, I would have bought it because I keep seeing how much better they are since my 2.0. I was still a little skeptical on the 4.0, but unless I return the new SHOEI's, it probably won't happen. Also, I used to send RUROC emails about getting a transitional lens. They finally came out with one, but I won't be getting it since I didn't purchase a 4.0. Have you tried one yet? If not, I'd love to hear your thoughts on their transitional lens. I loved my 2.0, but it's time to retire it. I really wish they had a new 5.0. Hopefully, next year. Anyway, great video! Very much appreciated.

Then saw your vid cutting a 3.0 and it really just confirmed all the things I heard that were bad about it. Coming from my beginner Icon helmet, I was ready invest and get a safer, quieter helmet… the RF-1400. But again, I looked up Ruroc and saw they were doing some major upgrades to their helmet. I wasn’t sure if they were lying about it being quieter. But with your vids and knowing what you did about the 3.0, I felt like I could trust you. It'll be hard to get the trust back from the atlas 3 debacle that was handled poorly all the way around.... check back with us after a few months of using this... thing.

And its almost impossible to find a helmet that fits me Like a CL SP would Many times I bought helmets that were very nice helmets that were £500 but on sale goes to £229 XXXL too. Unfortunately, they bloody won't fit my big head :( Its so hard to find alternative Helmets that Fits just like an HJC CL-SP XXXL and I bet the 4.0 from Ruroc will also be a tight fit...

Awesome commentary man! I was a long time Shoei guy… RFSR, GTAir, GTAir2. RF1200 and Neotec 1. I started buying in with 3.0 once I received the upgrades cheek pads. The 2.0 and Berseker I was definitely more critical of and Ruroc reached out to me for feedback as well. I think, for me a lowly channel that’s what sold me though. I’m a nobody putting out content about 100 people watch. But they wanted to engage and figure out how they could get better. Big difference from 2.0 to 3.0 and now 4.0…. Game changed. I rode back to back 3.0 to 4.0 to RFSR the other day, same experience you had with the 1400. Quieter and more plush. Can’t wait to watch the comments section here but I think you did a great job and hopefully everyone knows you and your integrity and they will get to experience this helmet and form their own opinion. I can’t wait to see other channels review it to see if there is a swing from 3 to 4.

Although I appreciate the input, and I am glad that people who buy this helmet are now a little bit safer than with the previous ones, past purchases with them have left a sour taste. When I purchase something I like the feeling of support behind that purchase, if I buy this, it will get shipped from UK so it no longer is a700 USD helmet, it is now a 900 USD with import taxes, and if when it arrives, it is too small/big, then it will be another month and handling fees to exchange it. AS good as this helmet looks and might be a lot better now, I am not willing to go through all of that.

Glad to see that you upgraded 😁 Ruroc is definitely a threat to the competitive market . They have outstanding customer support , and the 🔑 is a listening 👂 to consumers . There aren't other company's doing this . It's like a saying, which company you want to work for you . Company with 1000s of clients , or a smaller company with 100s. Outstanding customer support? Listening to consumers? I would hope so, since this is already 4th iteration of their helmet in like what, 4 years or so? They should have listened a long time ago, instead of paying KZitemrs to give favorable reviews, on a piece of crap helmet. I think the only reason they started making changes, is because lots of people started making videos about how bad their helmets were, and although they weren't popular KZitemrs, their videos gained tons of views, which in turn hurt Ruroc's pockets.

Having owned the 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 I was going to skip on the 4.0..... The 1.0 to 2.0 was a HUGE jump in quality. Then I felt like the 3.0 was actually a major step back. I was tired of other large creators because I bought the 3.0 because the cheek pads were 'AMAZING! Better than the Shoei X-14!' Then I got the 3.0 and was just like you.... like WTF! It's garbage! Then kept wearing my RF-1200. I was in the market for a new helmet.... my cat knocked my 1200 off the counter about 2 weeks ago when I was getting ready to go for a ride. @@GearsGadgets Okay.... I'm back..... Haven't had time to ride with it yet so can't fully comment on that. But DEAR LORD they finally fucking did it!!! After ditching the 2.0 for the RF-1200 and then looking to replace my 1200 with the 1400, I went with your advice and I ordered the Atlas Fenrir 4.0. I sat at my table with the 1200 and 4.0 and the cheek pads both felt really freaking good, with Ruroc maybe winning out. The only issue I kind of have is I have a very large head, like 25" around. I do have trouble squeezing my XXL head into the helmet and the helmet does say XL/XXL. So not sure why they ditched the old convention of XXL having it's own padding. But I've sat with this thing on and done the 'turn test', trying to turn the helmet with my head still and it moves less than an inch, very similar to my 1200. Thank you for the honest review. I had a ton of faith in Ruroc after getting the 1.0 on a steep discount to replace my HJC. Then getting the 2.0 to replace my 1.0 and LOVED the difference and the strides they were making.
