Introducing our new KZitem series, Rush Deep Dive. Starting with Clockwork Angels and progressing in reverse chronological order, we will deep-diving into all nineteen Rush studio albums.
Clockwork Angles, the band's 19th and final studio album, was recorded in April 2010 at Blackbird Studio in Nashville and from October to December 2011 at Revolution Recording in Toronto. This "concept album" chronicles a young man’s quest across a lavish and colorful world of steampunk and alchemy as he attempts to follow his dreams. The story features lost cities, pirates, anarchists, an exotic carnival, and a rigid Watchmaker who imposes precision on every aspect of daily life. Donna, Matt, Ryan, and Tim each chose one song from Clockwork Angels that is a deep cut or one that has deep meaning to them. They then discuss the songs at length. Feel free to leave your favorite deep track from the Clockwork Angels record in the comments or continue our discussion on one of the songs from this episode. Enjoy!
