Holy shit! WHAT A FAB COLLAB! WAS THAT A DRILL ON THE GUITAR?? IN THE MOOD SUCH A ROCKIN TUNE!? STILL LOVE IT! AND WIPEOUT BY GEDDY AND MR. BIG BASSIST . . . back in grade school all the "cool" guys would play Wipeout on the desk edge . . . SO MUCH FUN HERE❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

Geddy and Billy are two of the greatest bass players of all time. Paul and Alex are two of the greatest guitarists of all time. The late drummers Neil and Pat were both two of the greatest drummers, and too bad they’re both gone! Not to mention Eric too, he’s an awesome vocalist with a great Tenor voice for hard rock music. Man this rocks! Rush are my favorite band of all time, and Mr. Big had some good stuff besides To Be With You. Too bad they’re only known for that song. Not a bad song, but they had some harder rockers that were equally as good if not better than To Be with You.

Became a staple of the tour to have the Bigs onstage for this; Rush even made room for them, with Geddy moving to Alex's mic and letting the Bigs have his.

Fuck me, that ending CRACKED me up!!!! God, these guys are just so cool, I can honestly say, one of the extremely few and nearly visionary decisions of my life was backing these guys and getting into them back when NOBODY even knew who they were . . . These three fine gentlemen and exemplary human beings NEVER let me down like nearly every band and artist did from my generation; no drug scares/embarassment, no stories of late night coke fueled debauchery with underage playthings or barnyard animals quickly hushed up by cash throwing management, and considering their level of popularity, especially Neal's almost Godlike reverance by perccusionists worldwide (unwanted yet justly earned), no widely publicized and typical conflicts over top billing or larger salaries selfishness, no breakups/reuniting/breaking up again (cuz they're still as big a douches as before) or 12 'Final Tours' (Yeah I'm looking at you Pete and Roger!), none of that shit that ignores or disrespects the fan base that supported them when nobody would let them play a tune for even a lousy cup of coffee. Yeah, Rush has done right by me and exceeded my expectations at every turn. And though I learned about & profoundly embraced the power, humility, and rewards the printed word contains, largely due to the inspiration Neal selflessly provided, I have yet to come even modestly close to finding an acceptable assemblage of this ancient form of communication that satisfactorily conveys my gratitude for the eternal gifts 3 travelers from Willowdale freely laid at my doorstep . . .

I saw the contract for the two night show on this Presto tour at the Alpine Valley Theatre in Wisconsin on June 16 and 17th, 1990 with Alex's signature on it. Rush was paid $600,000 total for both nights and the support act (Mr. Big those two nights) was paid only $4,000...total! The place had a concert capacity of 80,000 and the estimated/projected revenue for these two shows was around $1.5 million. It's all in the contract. That means Rush - after about $160,000 of gig related fixed expenses that included security, catering, Advertising, ASCAP fees, cleanup, etc. - took home half of that two-night show's estimated revenue. I don't know what's more amazing, that Rush was pocketing that kinda tour coin, or that Mr. Big was getting paid a flat rate of about $2000 a night. I guess that's why the T-shirts are so expensive.

Unless Rush was playing a lot of cover songs ASCAP fees wouldn't amount to much.....otherwise ASCAP would be paying Rush performance royalties as they do for any artist who perform their own music in a live setting.

your fogeting rush/promoter ws covering the lighting/road crew and lodging for the crews that is a huge expense. Mr.Big was not getting a bill for any of that....it was a walk on plug in.
