YYZ Airport code for Toronto, their home town. I had tickets for their farewell tour. I spent about $375 to get good seats for me and the wife. I travel for work. My job went over a day. I booked a early flight to get home in time. Told my wife to be ready. Missed my connection. Thanks Delta Airlines. I spent that evening in an airport bar in one freakin sour mood. I remember my dad took me to a rush concert when I was about 8/9, was one of the first concerts I’ve ever been to next to the smithereens. I remember we were on top of a hill looking down on them. These people were very high, I could smell the weed on them. They started a swaying chain during YYZ, they swayed and sang to the instrumental somehow. That’s what i remember most.

YYZ is awesome by itself. It's even more awesome whenever Rush performs it live (I saw them in Chicago in 2008 and 2010...I still have the "Rain Date" hat from the 2010 show) But when you add a fucking string ensemble to the mix...it becomes EPIC.

Russell Obermeyer You are correct, there are some bands who just don't pull it off live. Rush is just amazing, glad I have seen them twice but that pales to how many times other people have seen them live...lol(friend of mine in Texas has seen them 6 times..) Anyways, because of where I lived at times, work reasons etc, I have not been able to see as many bands as I would have liked in my lifetime, but of the ones that I have seen besides Rush, Pink Floyd and the Scorpions sounded great. Another would be Van Halen in 1991 and 1995....but that starts a never ending debate about Sammy in VH(the DLR vs Sammy debate..)
