Russellville is my hometown and 20 years ago it was a beautiful place and it still is in certain places around town but nothing like it used to be! The chicken plant is the reason for all the Latinos. Mexican folks are some of the most hardworking and nice people they're not the reason Russellville went down hill, it's because of the corruption in our politicians!

Born and raised in Russellville 🙋🏻♀️, I haven’t left (yet), I’m 21. I have way too much to say about this video but I might as well make my own if I want to get too deep so I’ll try to be quick. Obviously you guys just skimmed the surface of the city, there’s a lot more to it. And the place is very active on the weekdays and people do walk through downtown. But some appearances don’t lie, it really depends on where you live. There are poor areas and the nicer areas are closer to the schools. I guess this city is controversial; you’re more likely to enjoy it if you’re part of the well knit community that are often active with the schools. But anyways, this place is run by white folks so you’re not going to see much latin influence 🤷🏻♀️

First of all, you said southern towns should welcome Hispanics then proceeded to drive through the Hispanic populated area and talk about how terrible it looked. Second, you passed this video off as a drive through a town and only showed the worst part and a very small percentage area, if you want people to take you serious don’t drive down 4 streets and say it’s the worst town you’ve seen. You are not helping this issue, if that is your intent.

You criticize those who would work in a chicken plant as not having an education while at the same time using phrases like, "I wouldn't move my family here for crap...". LOL okay. I didn't think it was bad. I recently moved to a small town in Alabama from Metro Atlanta. Yes it's quiet with not much to do, but that is actually why I moved here. I love it because it is peaceful and I like the country feel of having a garden and sitting on a porch. My house was very nice in Atlanta but I would much rather be here minding my own business instead of there with all the superficial people. It's all about preference. I know that you said you were judged for being Hispanic but to me you are doing the same thing. Judging people based on their home. Many people move to the country because they are too old, sick or lack the finances to be remodel their home and the country affords them to live the best that they can without having to worry about rules and regulations. Especially about preferences that they may actually enjoy. Judge not so you won't be judged.

Why do you assume people are not outside because they are afraid?? It's hot! They are either at work or inside in the A/C. And the Taco Bell that you said wouldn't make it, moved to new building. Unconstitutional? The amount of illegal immigrants in the US is ridiculous. Therefore, if a persons race is naturally foreign to the US, speaking in Alabama and an officer has legitimate suspicion that someone might be illegal and they have every right and they should verify to make sure they are legal so they cannot take up any jobs from true Americans citizens that live here legally..this law helps keep American citizens with more job opportunities instead of being taken by people that shouldn’t be here to begin with… Jmo and it’s bad in Russellville. I was born in Russellville hospital I live in belgreen, which is only 10 minutes down Highway 24 out of Russellville and our problem with illegal immigrants is horrible!!!

There's a reason I want to move out of this place so bad. It has good, but it has a lot of bad. The atmosphere is oppressive and everyone seems on edge (including myself) we have +75% above the average crime rating here than in every other town in AL of its size. It's not a good place to live, there's also a lot of cartel here as well as other local gangs and drug dealers. As well as tweakers (meth addicts) crack addicts, poverty, burglary, above average murder rates, VERY above average cases of r4pe, you name it we've got it. The neighboring gas station has been robbed in my 24 year old lifetime more times than both of my hands have fingers! If you have to live here I pray to God you know how to protect yourself, don't walk the streets at night. Not to mention it freaking has zip for job opportunities, it's hard enough to move out of here much less find a job to afford to be able to move! This town has good aspects too but it's NOTHING like it was when I was growing up, it has went so downhill. I could say so much more but I'll stop here, I legit almost started crying watching this video because you both just kept reaffirming most of what I already know to be true.
