Russia is applying its “time-honoured strategy” of “using as many humans as possible” in its invasion of Ukraine, says ANU Strategic and Defence Studies Centre’s Associate Professor Matthew Sussex.
Mr Sussex said this has seen Russia make “some gains” against Ukrainian forces.
“Ukraine has always had the twin problem of having fewer people to call on - but also being reliant on Western suppliers, ammunition, anti-aircraft missiles,” he told Sky News Australia.
