Artillery is one of Ukraine's most valuable assets and is a bigger menace to Russian troops than their tanks, given that Ukraine is entirely reliant on foreign aid to replenish lost artillery, all these guns being destroyed around Krynki is a catastrophic loss for Ukraine.

@andrew2353 I've heard the argument before that it matters not if they have have a severe ammunition shortage anyways, but I digress somewhat because it depends mostly on the condition of the artillery barrels they're losing here. Many of the artillery barrels they have now are worn out, some very badly so making them woefully inaccurate which is really bad for their situation in particular because the result is they wind up wasting even more of the few precious shell reserves they have left. And so if the 30 something geolocated artillery pieces they lost in this battle so far (more if you zoom out because they've been having rather pointless duels across the river all summer presumably in preparation for this) Were of above average condition compared to the rest of the front that actually is quite a considerable loss but there's no way of knowing for sure.

Weeb you have made another clear understanding of your observations on the operation inside Ukraine. I understand your discussions are in the east, front line. I’m interested in understanding, how many Russian forces are inside bellarus , and how long they have been there, and are they stationary, or training or been redeployed, or are they digging. I remember the Colom of vehicles, stuck, or stalled along the famous highway from bellarus to Kiev. If there are 10000 forces digging tunnels from bellarus to Kiev , for the last year, I am interested to know if they are there yet. I imagine they are closing in and almost ready to re enter a fight from the north as another front. Or would they even consider running tunnels 40-50 kilometres, at 200 feet

Russia has at best advanced only a few hundreds of square kilometers in the last year (the most optimistic pro RU claim is a little under 400 km^2 net gain in the last year but Suriyak who Weeb copies for his map updates says Russia only gained 168 km^2 in the last year) so if you look at a map that covers the whole frontline from a year ago to today the frontline has barely moved

A mix of everything. I'd say meat grinders played a pretty big role. Ukraine is currently in its 10th mobilization, with Zelensky trying to force an additional 500k through law. A lot of the "experienced" NATO trained Ukrainians died at Bakhmut, a PR stunt that Zelensky, when losing the city, said it was of "no great importance", despite sending brigade after brigade there to its death. Artillery is also another, which factors in the "meat grinder" aspect since Ukraine relies on the West to supply them with artillery, and even then, Ukraine doesn't match Russia's artillery 1:1, or anywhere near that. The lack of Western support is also dwindling. Western support is just delaying the inevitable for Ukraine. And, in addition to, Ukraine's counter offensive was a complete failure that resulted in losing some of the best equipment Ukraine possessed, such as Leopard tanks, Bradley's, etc. Last, but not least, apparently there is a lot of discontent among Ukrainian commanders with Zelensky. According to Ukrainian media the commander of the Siversk front completely ignored orders to help with the Ukrainian offensive and instead conducted his own offensive against Bakhmut, which, in the end, also failed. A lot of these commanders expressed that the Ukrainian counter offensive was absolute suicide to even suggest.
