Nice bit of nostalgia, seeing the old clips again.

In Russia, defensive driving. Nyet! No such thing! Russians don't seem to care. Instead of breaks it's like they think, ah, "vut da hell!" and stomp on the accelerator as they careen into another vehicle. But I sure get a kick out of listening to them get pissed off in their record-played-backwards sounding language! God love the Russkies, even if they don't believe in one.

Am I missing them? I don't see any speed limit signs. Is it just full throttle and hope for the best?

@ 2:25 this is what we came to see. This is what makes Russia hands down the best unpaid stuntmen in the world. (Did you see the guy fall out the car?) ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!?!?

Why would anybody have a new car in russia? it'll just get totalled. if I had to move there, I'd take my old '94 bimmer that got clobbered to bits in the hailstorm last yr.

DRaven4135 don’t bother all of these cars are totaled. You’re better off starting a wrecker business or better yet a funeral home.

The ROADS don't seem any worse than in the US -- but the drivers and speed limits are total shit. Do cops even GIVE speeding tickets? Is the term "defensive driving" ever mentioned or understood in Russia?

No, the U.S. has way better roads than Russia. In Russia, there are many roads that are gravel, not even paved, except for there highways. We may have a lot of pot holes, and in some areas it's shitty, but nothing close to Russia. Russia doesn't make there roads for safety in mind, just made cheaply.
