This war pissed me off because I had to admit that I was completely wrong. I still have empathy for the Russian peoples. I have none for it's government. Edit: to explain. I have never been impressed with my own government and it's use of soldiers for "foreign intervention" either. As an American we don't realize how lucky we are that we are too big and our military too strong to be invaded. I can't imagine what Ukrainian's feel as they learn the fate of their family members. I have friends who are Jewish and the stories they pass down are horrifying. I have studied history most of my life but it is always the sheer wanton destruction of an aggressor nation that kills unarmed civilians just because they can that causes me pain and horror. I imagine what victory will be bittersweet because the Russians who committed these atrocities will likely have escaped across the border. The Ukrainians have captured some of commanders but there are so many more and I feel that they will find more graves or people simply shot while the Russian hordes retreat. The world will have to hold all of Russia accountable for these actions or there will be no justice for the dead. Perhaps even that will not be enough.

I'm so grateful to be hearing a foreign spokesperson who knows what they're talking about provide both an insightful analysis and a connection to the people involved. Now, we'll go back to our regularly-scheduled infotainment.

It's quite horrible to think that for every victory, for every new city liberated, celebration will be marred by the evidence of all the atrocities committed by the Russians.

The one thing I really don't understand is why Putin would take all the progress Russia has made the last 30 years and flush it down the toilet. Russia will never fully recover what has been lost.

He was trying to write himself into the history books as the guy who rebuilt the Soviet empire.....he was banking on NATO and the West refusing to get involved.... instead of dividing it has galvanized everyone together against their behaviour......Finland and Sweden are joining NATO....he has failed in every way

May God bless those who have lived through this inhuman experience. May their lives take a wonderful turn. And may justice was end on the evil done to them, along with the political leader behind it all.

The "We are one with Russia" sign puts to rest the argument as to why Russia has invaded Ukraine. Booby traps, mass graves and torture chambers puts to rest the idea of who they are and why we can't let them win.

yes, it seems the Russians have not changed in the last 100 years, they can certainly not be called a "civilized society", no matter how many European luxury goods they could buy with their oil money, in the past

@Elena R Elena where do you think the FSB learnt its' tactics from? The whole wind up telephone, electrocution and shocking torture while being interrogated they are all barbaric communist tactics, let's not forget the mass graves being unearthed and the mobile crematoriums the Russian army brought with themselves while invading Ukraine.

@@RainerMichelle Cannot blame the Russian people, we need to hold the Russian military, the intelligence services and most of all the Russian leadership accountable. The Russian people are the victims of their own leadership.
