Plugging the holes is one of my favorite stages of a project. It means I'm getting closer to applying the finish. When making a chair, the joinery is important. I used TiteBond III adhesive on all the joints, as well as wood screws. I countersunk the screws, and plugged them with 3/8' dowels. After allowing the glue to dry, I cut the plugs off flush and sanded them smooth with the contour of the wood.
Now I must decide what finish to apply to this piece.
