We are all Ruth. Foreigners, not worthy, and it was Jesus who covered us and extended his mantle. This story makes me cry and be grateful for God's love for us.

When I became pregnant🤰🏼 (out of wedlock) I felt called to go to ⛪️ church and during my pregnancy I decided my son would call my Best friend “Auntie Ruth” because of her Faithfulness ✝️ to walk with me during this life shaking time 💥 ... and I continue to Love the Book of Ruth. God’s faithfulness is more real then I even knew when I was walking through a beautiful & tragic time of my life. Thank you for the reminder 💓 My son has been the weaving that brought me to my knees & ultimately God.

Today is March 18, 2021 and today is my Ruth reading in the BibleProject read through of the Bible. So I watched the book overview of Ruth and found this Ruth presentation. And, coincidentally, this presentation just happened to have taken place on a March 18 (don't know the year). really excellent.

This is now my favorite Bible story. This is such a creative Bible reading--making the little story of Ruth come alive to reveal a big message. If we try to understand the context and the cultural background, it's really a very interesting and exciting story. This can generate substantial discussion.

The conclusion: "The never-ending story of the Bible offers or is open to us to be part of it; Through the Lord Christ, we're weaved into the story of God love for humanity."

From the Bible, the closest ages of those married was the 10 years between Abraham & Sarah. (Despite what _many_ preachers claim, they were not a "childless couple". Both Hagar & Kenturah proved Sarah had fertility problems, not Abraham.) In most marriages in the Bible where ages are mentioned or inferred, the man is usually 40 years older than the woman. Mary and Joseph are a classic example. Joseph died when Jesus was 16. His wealthy Uncle Joseph of Arimothea (only the nearest relative could claim a corpse off a Roman cross) was himself a member of Parliament (hence his direct connection to Pilate), whose extreme wealth came from his shipping businesses of importing tin from southern England (Israel's tin mines had been exhausted, and tin is an alloying element needed to make bronze).

Notice throughout the book that Boaz refers to Ruth as being young enough to be his daughter, and commends her for not dating men her own age. From a bit of maths, if Ruth got married in Moab at the age of 20, she's about 35 in this story. Boaz is about 60.

Regarding the "sketchy scene" in the third part, I remember reading somewhere that the Biblical Hebrew word for "feet" could be-and was-sometimes used as a euphemism for "genitals", and that that was likely the case here. Is that true? And what is the significance of Ruth laying at/uncovering Boaz's feet, in whatever sense?

Notice from reading God's good laws, that the kinsman redeemer does *NOT* have to be single to inherit more wives when he buys back land leased until the Jubilee year. Likewise notice again from God's good laws, that a dead man's brother does NOT need to be single to inherit his brother's widow (as ratified by Jesus in the discussion with the Sadducees about the 7 brothers who all died and the 1st brother's widow is protected by the next brother). Modern Christian concepts of marriage are not Biblical.

In the genealogy of Jesus there are 4 women mentioned (apart from his mum): Tamar (who seduced Judah) Rahab (who seduced half of Jericho) Ruth (who seduced Boaz (who probably already had a number of wives)) Bathsheba (who seduced David by her dragging her bath outside to the garden, putting blazing lamps around it and giving David a seductive strip tease show in the suds) But as Bathsheba was married when she decided to commit adultery with a higher status man than her husband, her name is not put in Jesus' genealogy. But the other seductresses who took sexual initiative are honoured by God. Lessons for *SINGLE* women:- 1) seduce a man you want (don't wait for him to notice you, he's got more important things on his mind) 2) it doesn't matter if he's already with several women, you can join him too. (Read Gideon's story carefully, 2nd Chronicles 24:2, Jeremiah 3, Isaiah 4:1, Revelation 2 & 3)
