if you wrap the handles around the sides a couple of inches, they'll never pull out as you carry them

nice, and i'm sure you needed them that big for you rig. i'm thinking 12x12 would work for most RV;s

yes, they are heavy, and probably overkill for a bumper-pull camper, but with my rig weighing 26,000lbs, I figured I would build them to last.

Great idea - not sure why you waited for the glue to dry to put the screws in. May be better to put clamp the pieces and put the screws in while the adhesive is still wet - allows for a tighter seal and better contact for drying.

right on. I probably failed to mention that once the adhesive was applied, I weighted them down so they would be firmly together. My only reason for that was that while the adhesive was freshly applied, the boards slid across each other, and the more I moved one board, the more the others would slide and become off square. I guess I COULD have coated the adhesive with salt to prevent them moving while I screwed them down, but for me, it was easier to place the bottom set, apply the adhesive, carefully set the top set, make sure it was aligned, and then carefully add weight and let dry, and then screw them together. Thanks for watching, and thanks for the tip.

How much does each pad weigh?

they are heavy... but they have to be solid, as they are supporting an RV weighing 27,000 lbs.
