Cost comparison varies depending on the individual. We full time, move constantly use 1000 trails as much as possible and no longer pay $2500/ month for taxes, insurance and utilities on our house. Depreciation on our rig is about $1000/ month. Appreciation on house has been about $750/ month. So net loss is $750/ month less in RV. We have electric toad so fuel is less thanks to free electric at campsite, even with added RV. Plus, I rent the house so I'm making money from it. RVing for us is definitely better financially.

RV living for me is a no brainer. Im a travel nurse. It is cheaper for me AND easier to find a place to park my butt. A lot of the times, if not most of the time, renting an apartment requires 6-12 month lease contracts. My work contracts are, on average, 13 weeks. I then move on to the next assignment (Usually). Staying in a hotel is out of the question if I want to save up money, which is why I am doing this in the first place.

I live in a 5th wheel... due to the housing market, 6 months has turned into 3 years. I have 2 dehumidifiers inside to help keep moisture at a minimum, especially since where I live it rains 9 months of the year. I'm getting ready to reseal everything on the roof tomorrow. There's still a lot of work with RV living.

We bought our diesel motorhome thinking we’d go full time someday. I drawn it back to maybe just the winter months and stay in our house for the summer. The biggest thing for me personally is not having a bathtub.

Full time rving is not cheap if you are Traveling. We have a paid for house that we kept but rent. I doubt if we ever live there again. But we have it. Just in case our health fails. We are seniors. There is always maintenance issues with an rv. We have a humidifier for the desert and a de-humidifier for the Midwest and south. I plan and schedule campground’s from 4-6 months in advance.

What we are seeing is that for where we like to visit each year, we reserve a year ahead, or whatever a particular campground allows. We camp in a lot of state parks, and generally there are sites available (on the east coast).

We were fulltimers for almost 8 years until unexpected health issues waylaid our plans and we had to settle back into a tradition stick and brick home. We loved the lifestyle and freedom fulltiming offered, however the reality is that it is not for everyone. I think it is important for someone considering the lifestyle to go in with eyes wide open. There are a lot of pros but there are many cons as well. We've seen many a marriage unravel among our fulltiming friends.

So true...many people see infleuncer's and think Full Time RV Living is cheaper and will easily solve problems. And while it is certainly cheaper in some ways, in alot of ways, it is not! I find people often forget what the words RV mean...Recreational Vehicle...use it for recreation, not full time living

You also need to consider some the savings. By being full time in a RV, I am saving $15,000 per year in property taxes. I am also avoiding about $400 per month in utility bills. Insurance is about the same on the RV as my house was. Campground fees are a non-cost (or more properly a one time cost) with some membership plans (with the exception of travel to/through places where the plan does not have adequate coverage). Most everything else is about the same.

You must be referring to California??? Here in Florida property taxes and utilities are no where near that high….and they’re even cheaper in other states. Which brings up the point that cost of living will vary greatly from state to state.

@@GratefulGlamper Actually, New Jersey, And that was for a modest house with a single bath with a 45 minute commute into NYC. Larger houses were getting hit with taxes from $20, 000 to $30,000 for single family houses in the suburbs which are far from being mansions. Yes, there are places where the cost of living is an outrage, and RV offers an alternative.

@@k_enn Point is, you're comparing your property tax savings to a place that you don't actually live. Might as well claim that you're saving 100k in property tax by RVing full time instead of living in a mansion in Beverly Hills. If you can RV full time, especially as a traveler, it clearly doesn't much matter where you live, so the comparison should be against places where housing and taxes are lowest (or at least places where a person would want to live and that they're lowest) since you could live there instead of in an RV.

My daughter is on a permanent spot on private property. She only pays $500 a month for rent, sewer electricity and water. It is on private property in the country in Florida. She sold her Ram and bought anew car. In the summer she comes north with her cat 🐈⬛ and works from wherever she’s at. They are not taking any other RV’s and you have to have a recommendation to get on property.

If you are going to factor in true cost as well…other than renting your house out or unless there is a dramatic increase in the price of a house, taxes, insurance, mortgage interest, maintenance and repairs, utilities, etc…full time RVing and sticks and bricks there are some serious considerations on what really makes sense. Don’t let that 4% increase each year fool you.

Hi. I've been enjoying all your very informative videos. We full-timed for 4 years, but we were stationary. We're about to full-time again, but this time we'll be roaming. We'll do this until we can determine what state we want to live in. I have several questions about how to handle, mail, medical issues, high speed internet and more. Do you have any suggestions on who/where I can go to obtain good options for my questions? I will appreciate any recommendations.

You make RVing so complex and hard in my opinion. Do workamping and never pay for RV park and get paid and live off that money and use truck stops/rest areas/boondocking land and RVing is much cheaper than a traditional lifestyle. Spots are not hard to find…that is just a flat out lie. I have paid down my debt much faster in this lifestyle vs traditional home and work.
