The body of a person is the shell, what makes the person is what's in the inside of that person(loving, gratitude, joyful, forgiveness, charity, humbleness etc)... As is the structure of a home, is the shell, what makes the home is who lives in the inside ..... yours is one of the nicest homes i have seen 😊 God Bless!

It is just so exciting to know that so many more people are reaching for, and achieving, the freedom that comes with this lifestyle~it's absolutely wonderful. Will be following along with your videos, paying attention to details and what has and has not worked for you folks. We appreciate you taking the time to document. +RV thereyet? Well, welcome to the journey. It can be difficult, and we've had our challenges. But it is ABSOLUTELY worth it! If you should ever decide to do some videos, I would love to see what you are doing. Here in the northeast we have to deal with winters below zero, while you will be dealing with the heat in AZ (but you know that), so some of our challenges will be different from yours. BTW, I love your You Tube screen name.

I have had a similar situation. My husband passed away in 2010. He could build anything. I tried to stay in my 1600sf house, but realized I only needed my bedroom, bath, living area and kitchen. I had 43yrs of a wonderful marriage, and 43yrs of things to get rid of. I had a couple of apts, but when I retired, my income dropped dropped significantly! Then I needed a double bypass.I moved into a lovely 35ft fifth wheel. It was great until the fridge, ac, and heater went out. Every time I turned around Money was going out the door, I was taken advantage of by unkind people. I finally moved into a senior apt and I have been here for 6 moths. If anything breaks, maintenance fixes it. I have made lovely friends, events to go to, a pool and assorted fun things to do. I still have to get rid of more stuff, and as health permits, I will. I loved watching your videos, you have inspired me to do more! God Bless You Both!

Bill, Elizabeth, great job, beautiful tiny house. Very well put together. Bill I see you are an accomplished carpenter and a prepper.. I have a suggestion You can make some raised planting beds for your wife- to grow herbs, salad greens and some vegetables also you can build a small coop and have at least 3 hens for eggs. Their " poop for the garden boxes, free compost. I have (5) 4ft by 8 ft. planting boxes , I grow lots of vegetables and greens, lettuce, spinach, many herbs. Two chicken coops with 13 hens, they are my pets, I do enjoy their eggs, too. I utilize their "poop" in the garden boxes. Enjoy your home. God Bless

+Laura M. Thank you. This summer we just moved in and I am still working on winterizing and "move in" projects. (The renovation is not yet totally complete.) For next summer we hope to start doing some intensive bed gardening (we've done that before). We also hope to put in a few fruit trees. Unfortunately, local zoning codes will not allow us do raise any "livestock," which includes chickens. We might be able to get away with rabbits in a hutch in the back if we keep the operation small, but I'm not even sure about that.

Here in Rockaway Park, N.Y. they allow chickens but not Roosters. The hens are very tame and happy. I start most of my vegetables and herbs, by seed under fluorescent lights, early in February, I look forward to this. It seems like a lot of work, but it brings me lots of joy and it helps stretch the budget. Are you going to grow standard size fruit trees or dwarf trees.? Good luck with the projects. God Bless .

Your story is inspirational. My husband and I had a similar thing happen to us. Good paying jobs, one rental property and our own home. Then 08 hit and we both lost our jobs, my tenant lease expired around the same time and moved out, due to her own situation. So there went our two properties. And now im thinking of buying an rv so that i no longer have a mortage. I've learned that you CAN live with less, which means less to deal it and less to stress over. Thank you for your vids

I'm certain someone has already suggest the articulated shower curtain rod. If not, I just did 😁😊. Those articulating shower curtain rods really do open up the shower so you're not intimate with the soap scum covered, cold shower curtain. You'll gain six or more inches of shoulder room. Such a simple but genius design. They way you've acquired, renovated, and enjoy you're lil cute home really is a blessing. To actually purchase a plot of land (no matter the size), with two structures for just $8,000 is a miracle. Yes the trailer was in, what most of us would say is, a haul to the dump condition. The fact you were able to renew it to a livable condition is very impressive. The challenges you faced and over came in just a few years is more than most face in a lifetime. Bravo for keeping your faith in each other and such positive attitudes. We westerners have been conditioned to consume as much as we can. We work to consume. Not work to provide the basics. Due to this most of the baby boomers are not equipped for retirement. My generation is even less equipped. Someone who worked at Safeway (one of the few employers who had a pension plan) is better suited for retirement than someone who earn 10 times that. All because we must buy this, buy that, new vehicles every three years, remodel our kitchens at a cost of $80,000 just because the new it color is gray and the stone won't match the new trendy gray color.... Or what ever the colors are in when one reads this ten years from now when the original custom cherry kitchen is back in style. When I unplugged from social media, network television, magazine, and other channels which bombard me with new this and new that, I don't notice what I am "missing". I have no FOMO. From my teens until my life altering injuries just after my 31st birthday, I was a consuming machine. Everything had to be new all the time. If I had saved even half of what I spent on stuff, I wouldn't have struggled so much after my income was wiped out. Then came the crash two years later. Like you I lost everything. I was single, disabled, and down to living with a friend. Bankruptcy took care of 90% of my medical and other debt. I don't know if I really enjoyed what I did for a living or if I enjoyed all the luxuries it afforded me. All I can say is I do miss working, running, dancing, skiing, horseback riding, mountain biking, and all the other activities my body can no longer handle. I don't miss having new clothes delivered (except the custom made shoes and suits. Nothing beats perfectly fitted clothes and shoes), the new vehicles, or having to pay all those bills and payroll. It's sad it took losing everything and being injured so badly to understand what real living means. Ok. That my two cents. Enough of my blabbing. Cheers from Seattle!
