Boya lake was one of our favorite lakes if not our favorite, if we ever go back up north again we would stay there several days. did not know how pretty it was before hand and how many really cool paddling routes to take there.

Wow - the color of the lake! Just gorgeous! The kayak is pretty impressive - sometimes the inflatables don’t make easy headway. A lot of other Rpod owners have a Clam - seems like a perfect thing for Canada & Alaska. Looks like a couple of great days!

We have seen the Clams and have thought that they would be very handy. So far, has it worked out well for you? Love the kayak as well. Love the idea that it has a hard bottom. Thanks for sharing.

We’ve only got it out a couple of times but yes well worth it even if just for those couple of times. It meant the difference of being cooped up in the house or being outside.

We were there in 16' maybe Sept 7 or 8th. The water level was higher. I wonder if it's because the snow run-off has not made it to the lake yet, or they had a very dry spring as Alaska has experienced this year. I have two of the Advanced Elements inflatable single kayaks. Best money I ever spent ($300-350 ea.)

I recognized a Truck Camper when you first entered the campground. Black Ford F350 with a Truck Camper. He was just featured in Truck Camper Magazine. Nice article.

Great video. We loved Boya lake. We stayed a couple nights there on the way up the cassiar highway on our way to Alaska in 2017. It is a great spot. We did the hike. Great views of the lake and the changing colors of the water.

I wonder which came first, the Clam screen tent or the Gazelle screen tent? I have the Gazelle and it is super easy to set up so I went to Amazon and looked at the Clam and they might as well use the same set up video! That lake water looked amazing and I commented out loud that it looks like Carribean water about time you said it. Nice video, I like how you show a good mix of driving sights as well as camping and attraction scenes.

The evil squirrel that chewed up the insulation under the hood of our tow car!! (We stayed in that exact same campsite). We also bought a screen tent for our trip to Alaska last summer used it one at Mahood Lake in Wells Gray Park and then never used it again :-)

That lake is absolutely stunning! What gorgeous weather you had for your kayaking! Sophie was adorable, as always! Spirit isn’t too keen on boating, or is he just too big? Gosh, hubby and I are going to have to do Cassiar again; we missed so much!

These are automatic inflatable vests (if we fell in they would activate). Mine was purchased at West Marine and Gary’s was purchased at Cabelas. We have these from our boating days and are very comfortable to wear. Just don’t fall in as then you’d need a new CO2 cartridge.

It was purchased at West Marine and is specifically for inflating inflatable products. We don’t recall the exact name of it.

Shotguns yes. We have 2 on board that we traveled with after doing all the normal protocols with both Canadian and US Customs. We left the handguns at home this trip but if we wanted them we would ship up to Tok like we did 2017.
