Thanks for the clear explanation, but i think your original range was only 5.3 not 5.6m. Luckily apps can now do this for us to remove the human error!

As @Memostly mentioned the quoted range is 5.3m not 5.6m. But even taking that into account, the estimated tidal speed (~3.1 knots) is higher than the spring tidal stream (2.8 knots). This is unexpected, no?

you wouldn't be taking a navigation course by chance? i found a tidal chart and current tables for local waters. I'm wondering if you can do that calculation regardless of neap or spring and more so based on your day/s of passage? either way, there may be tide and current table available in your area? sorry if confusing...still learning somewhat

@@mallow173 Hi. The Spring and Neap rates come from the tidal rates (spring and neap) from the tidal flow almanac or from the tidal hour on a tidal diamond. They are shown on the chartlet as (14, 28).

Are the blue and red lines drawn at the level of the mean neap and mean spring tidal ranges?

i is a shame , why do you not show where those tidal information comes from , from the diamons or the strange... your course is only designed for yourself,... it is not good at all
