I remember Neal Casal making such an impression with his beautiful voice and his deep emotion coming through with every word, I've only just discovered he passed away last year and I am devastated, such a terrible loss for a beautiful soul. The Cardinals brought out the best of Ryan Adams musically. The live shows from 05 till early 09 were some of the best concerts in the history of rock n roll. Think that’s an overstatement? It’s not. Google them and listen. I understand that Ryan may have been difficult to work with, but I’m speaking of nothing but the music.

James Ward So im a rock guy. Hard rock/blues rock. So hanging around rock fans my whole life id hear people say they hate country. Its my opinion that if you don’t understand the difference between plastic country pop and this stuff well you basically don’t know anything about music. This type of thing along with G Parsons, The N G Dirt band etc is every bit as heavy duty as any rock out there. I mean i dont even count country pop as legitimate any more than i would count a Nickleback type band either. All genres have their skeletons but good music( or fantastic in this case) crosses over. Again if someone doesn’t see that then im done with that conversation. I know i digressed but i guess this was my long winded way of saying i agree with you 100%.
@mapatterson22

@@deanmccaskill5495 Any genre of music by definition is good! It's great to be open minded! I have to confess to being one of those rock people in the 60s and 70s that said I couldn't cope with country but in the UK, I only really got exposed to pop country. I'm older and wiser now!! Mr Adams has opened my eyes although he's not always country of course. I have a much more open mind about most music genres now. I've also been into trad folk for years! Make of that what you will Ha.
I don't think I like him with a band. Prefer his stuff with just him and his guitar. Much more pure.
