Wow. I had my spinal injury that same year in October. I fell and landed on top of my head, freak accident and I was paralyzed and could not move anything from the neck down. When I saw this guy get hurt, I was watching that game, I started crying knowing the issues I been battling for 5 years that this has happened to someone else 😢. I'm getting better but not being able to do things really takes a mental toll on you also. Walking one day and can't get out of bed the next. Glad to see this video that this guy is doing OK. Hope he's getting better day by day.

How long til you were able move your arms and such? My biggest fear is paralysis; specifically from the neck down. I couldn’t do it, especially if you can’t speak. Somebody better come in the room and light me up. I get sleep paralysis pretty often, and so I get glimpses of the one thing I hope never happens to me. Anyone that fights through (though I guess you don’t have a choice in the matter) is a soldier to me.

This is exactly the point. EXACTLY why this ruling is fucking stupid. Its not possible for someone to react this fast. He thought about what he needed to do, tried to do so, but it just isnt realistically possible with how fast the nfl is. You cant expect someone to make the perfect form tackle every time. The intention of the ruling is good but the application of the rule is horrible. As it seems to be with many rules in the nfl...

Because he doubted himself. That's what he is saying. But the game is quick. Obviously he could have thought and went to react. But tragedy struck. You can't do a perfect tackle every time. You can't worry about your form everytime. It's instinct. You just do. And unfortunately this type of stuff can happen.
@tokra7776

if you watch the replay, and MANY replays of Shazier tackling, he lowers his head and leads with the crown that's why he got injured. Im glad he is ok, but to say he was practicing "an NFL tackle" like it's the first time he tried it is nonsense. He has MULTIPLE highlights of him leading with top of his helmet and i told many steelers friends that hopefully id be wrong but it was a matter of time before he was injured i do believe that it was the one time in his career that he THOUGHT about how to make a proper form tackle, but it was after the play not before or during
