I'm really enjoying this series so far, well done. Interestingly, I have picked up more about "dragon hunting" than about openings from these videos so far.

NYIG_Go On the topic of dragon hunting and aggressive 3dans, the last game reminded me of the concept of “Amarigatachi” that I read about in a Go book a while back (see senseis.xmp.net/?Amarigatachi) It almost feels like the overly aggressive players you mention in this video amass so many weaknesses early on in the game that their position is bound to implode later on...

The 2nd game was such a nice example of flexibility, they should put it in textbooks.

I like all of them because they all create different game patterns. They all seem to freak out your opponents. Keep up the good work.

i've got hard time to deal with this kind of agressive player, and it's so satisfying to see you smoothly control the direction of the game

Random opening 10, where we witness the resurgence of the wholly mammoth. Oh! But no! It’s Ryan with hair! 😂 Fun, fun this great game of Go.

My favorite of these openings is the double 6-4. I've been using it on Fox and was able to rank up from 1 kyu to 1 dan using almost exclusively double 6-4. Thanks, Ryan!

I think AI made people consider influence a lot less, that's why they don't respect and try to reduce really strong groups. I'm DDK, but my guess is that even in 3D level you can't just try to play like AI does, specially against a stronger oponent. You won't have neither timming, nor the precise use of aji that AI has, because of that you just die while trying to invade.

Eric Hofer Im not sure that should be the lesson. I think AI taught us to think differently about what is considered influence. Influence is pretty strongly tied to a lack of aji, meaning you can safely ignore moves in the vicinity. I don’t believe the AI changed our thinking on the value of this.

Eric Hofer For example, the AI did rewrite the book on the 3-3 invasion, but it also changed the variations. You don’t see the AI playing the old 3-3 joseki (with the tigers mouth on the outside) because it DOES believe the influence is too strong.

I'd like to see more modern style san ren sei - so without using the 5-5 point after a kakari, and early 3-3 invasions... and playing what used to be blocking in the "wrong" direction etc...

There's this Katago 3 handicap challenge (Katago AI gives a pro 3 handicap stones) going on. Are you interested? That'd be fun :)

so rude and childish to just rage quit... i played against a 7 kyu today he said "hi, enjoy the game!" and i said hi, then i killed a big group of his at move 83 and he just quited without saying thank you, i have a feeling if he had won he would say thank you lol. but the last korean in this video didnt even resign he just made him wait for 4 mins lol thats indeed "barbaric" :D
