Today I'm up at a Fischer's Neighborhood Market owned Shell Gas Station in New Braunfels TX along I-35 frontage Rd by S Walnut Ave where we have a nice refurbished Ryko SoftGloss Maxx to check out. This system have been around since the early 2010s replacing an older Ryko SoftGloss XS2 at this particular site judging by the old 2 producer Slimline dryers that were reused when this system was installed. Some time ago, Food Mart used to own this particular gas station and car wash, and then Fischer's managed the car wash starting in 2021 until 2023 when Fischer's Neighborhood Market fully took over the site, and recently last year following the Fischer's Neighborhood Market buyout of the gas station, the system went through a refurbishment that included new custom blue and green colored Foam Brite brushes, exclusive for Fischer's, and at the time, system has already had the older style Maxx 5 signage put in since early 2019, so this system is up to modern standards while still maintaining its original character (and old school look with the reused dryers). I did buy the top dollar Color Max wash for this video which came out to $15 (about the average for in bay washes by today's standards) and wash quality I would give this an 8/10, the undercarriage wash was alright (not very powerful unfortunately, but that seems to be a case with a lot of the Ryko systems), the prewash cycle went alright, but you can tell this is an older model Maxx since it comes with the rocker blasters on the side instead of the rotating blasters, the tri-foam coating was decent, though a bit watered down, the soft touch cycle did go well, and like many of these Ryko SoftGloss systems was pretty aggressive and shook the entire vehicle around (that seems to be a common thing for some reason), but all 4 brushes and the top brush did profile the vehicle pretty well for the most part, and the wheel scrubbers that this particular model's equipped with, did to a great job, the rinse cycle after those cycles went good, the lava wax application from the optional Color Wave feature (likely a retrofit for this model) had a good coating too, as did the rinse cycle from the same application to wash it off, the surface protection and spot free rinse passes also were applied well, the tire scrub feature on this particular unit did very well, and the original Slimline dryers (in very nice condition) did do a good job (even for not being only the older 2 producer dryers from an older XS2) drying off the vehicle, and it was nice to see all the nozzles moving as they should. Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed the video and stay tuned for more to come.
