I don’t have a brushless hammer drill yet and my old brushed tank of a hammer drill (that still outspecs most new hammer drills on the market today) has a bent chuck. I swap it out with my chuck from a brushless compact drill when I need to drill a few tapcons, so this is a short video explaining how I do it. Let me add that when I initially tried to break the chuck free from the old blue hammer drill, I did put a bunch of different items in the chuck and hit it with my good brushless ryobi Impact driver but the old blue chuck just let go easily and rounded off everything that I tried to put in it. There are a few videos floating around of putting something on the chuck and hitting it with a hammer trying to spin it left handed to get it free, and although I tried, I could not get that to work. I ended up just removing the screws and putting the chuck in a vise and using a pipe wrench while jamming the gears with a flat head screwdriver.
