Good review, I purchased two of these and could not be happier with my decision. I have a 1996 Fleetwood Bounder motorhome and if I need to run the dual air-conditioners or the microwave then i run them in parallel and they do a fantastic job. If I just want/need to power the refrigerator or run and charge the coach batteries I only use one of them and it does a great job. I have had many campers oooh and ahhhh over the quietness of the units, they are quiet enough to operate in any of the national parks or state parks as well. You can sit 6 feet away from them and have a normal conversation with ease. If you are considering purchasing a generator that performs well, I highly recommend this unit. That is my 2-cents worth on the subject

I've had mine for almost 3 months. 840+ hours already. I have literally run this little generator for as much as 4 days continuous. No problems at all. Easy to maintain. Since I'm a full time RV'r I can't afford the space for a typical oil siphon pump. I just use one of those cheap gear oil pumps from HF. Air filter is easy to service. I know what I'm talking about. My former employer was a remote location shooting range. We had 12 of the Honda 2000i that we rotated weekly between the office/store and the 3 on site work campers. Those Hondas averaged 70 hours/week and got weekly oil changes. I'm now running 100 hrs/week on 1/2 quart of oil instead of almost (~.91) full quart on Hondas. I have literally put this generator under my dinette window with window open ( right conditions, breezes ect.) and sat there and watched the television. It is my opinion that these Ryobi generators are superior to the Hondas and certainly higher quality than similar units at Harbor Freight. I took off the dolly handle and the knob for the cover. I want to find a pull ring to replace it with.

The app works good, but if you want to run an rv ac, or blow dryer or iron, you must turn off all other loads. (This includes your rv battery charger) Running the rv ac, you must turn the fan on first, then turn the temperature dial to start the compressor after the fan is running, as it will load the generator to the maximum output.

I just purchased this unit today at Home Depot. I'm running a 1500 watt cordless kettle on it this afternoon and it said "overload". I hit the overload reset button and all worked for a while, but then it happened again. Any idea why? It only happens if I fill up the kettle. Thing is it only takes about a minute or 2 for the full kettle to heat up, so why is a 1500 watt cordless kettle overload an 1800 running watt generator?!? I'm not sure what to think or what to do.... Thanks for any advice and/or suggestions.

Interesting to see so many positive reviews here, but complaints in other forums. It works *wonderfully* until it doesn't, which might explain that difference. Given ours is about a year old and has a fault somewhere between the alternator and control module; if we disconnect the alternator, it'll start. Opening it up, I'm a little disappointed with the build quality so far. Now we're checking windings, rectifiers, and control board and hoping we can do a component-level repair, but will replace a module if we have to. I doubt it's the windings, FWIW.

Just bought one. A bit juicy but everything else is great. Running a 5000BTU AC unit plus a small fridge is pushing it so the eco mode can't be used. However running on full idle it can handle that load no problem. However that causes it to use more fuel of course. This is the problem. If you are in 95 degree heat and need it to run all night then you are out of luck. It will run about 6 hours on one fill up. The ONLY guy selling extended run kits or aluminium billet caps same as the Honda ones has the market to himself right now. He is on ebay and EXPENSIVE. Look for MRI_Denver. I shall buy a cap at $35 !!! If you can wait hang on for China to catch up. They'll be $10 same as a Honda in a year.

@@davidarevalo5413 If those are starting amps, then a 12,000 will work. I can tell you that it would not power my buddies 12,000 and it would pop when the compressor would start. So I would make sure they are starting amps and go with it.

Not good. Assuming your generator is running it should be on. Look inside and see if maybe your wire connectors came loose or disconnected.

An upgrade to your frustration meter but not an upgrade for the generator. My fuel level is stuck on 3/4 tank and refuses to budge. Ran it dry and the stupid meter thinks it has 6 hours left. Save your money and buy one without the meter - otherwise it's has a good engine and it gives power as needed.

Check to see if the fuel Guage is plugged in. You could check the ohm and see if the resistance changes as you fill the tank.

changing oil is very difficult the oil goes al over the place
@puertogringo100
6 жыл бұрын
Are you removing the plate underneath the oil port? Two screws on the side. Then just put it on the edge of a table with a plastic container underneath and drain it. Easy peasy. If you don't have a work table to change the oil, try this: Go to autozone and buy an extractor. $14.99. It's a hand pump with two tubes one end goes into the dipstick hole, the other into an old milk jug. Pump about 20 times, bone dry. Can't get cleaner than that.

Mine have only 34 hours of usage, with a 12 gouge extensión cord. CRUZ ROJA donated it for my disabled son a year after Maria. I live in Puerto Rico. During Isaias storm the generator go into "overloaded". I only connected my son TV, and his fan, just that. I need help because my son have traqueostomy and gastrostomy and he's bedridden. Here in Puerto Rico is very hot during storms, and PREPA does not provide reliable service. Please help, for my son's sake. Thanks

Does anyone have a guide for the best way to break in this generator?
@WorkshopAddict
6 жыл бұрын
Check the oil to make sure it is full. Start it without anything connected with auto idle on. Let it idle for 90 seconds and turn off the auto idle and let it go to full throttle for 5 minutes. Plug in something small like a large light or fan and let it run for 10 more minutes. From there, let it idle with nothing connected to 90 seconds and turn off. Let it cool completely and repeat. Change oil to a good synthetic. I recommend Valvoline VR1 10W30 synthetic as it has a high ZDDP level. Run it as you want from there.
