Hi Morten, thanks for sharing this info, Great Video! On heating up the gear to pull if off the motor. I think that would most likely melt the insulation on the windings. I would use a small Gear Puller. One with a Fork that will fit under the gear. And a Bolt to push against the Shaft. They don't cost too much at a Discount Tool Store or even an Auto Supply. You may need that other Motor one day... Don

Thank you,, the cheapest Gear Puller I can find is about $10,, and the new motor was $16,,, I think the extra $6 saved me a lot of trouble.

@@MyPlayHouse Oh ya, four sure. Getting the motor that fit, was the best thing to do. I was just thinking about the other motor not going to waste. You could also, make a Fork. Out of some Flat Steel or maybe find an old BBQ Fork or anything that would work. And use a Punch and a Hammer to drive it off. But, that "China Steel" is very soft. And you may roll the edges of the Shaft. And have a very hard time. Getting the Gear off. Oh, and you could use your trusty Ryobi Grinder to Cut a slit in the unwanted Gear. Then it would almost fall off. $10 for a Gear Puller... Too much... your cheaper than I am!;) A Gear Puller would be a handy tool to have. A man, can never have too may Tools;) Don

Well done morten :-D Ready to frighten another tree lol. And you might be able to swap the cogs and make the first new motor compatable. Yes heat the cogs with a small gas torch, heat is your frend :-D

I've now killed 2, second newest one lasted 4 months😢 exactly how you said, motor heats up, inadequate plastic cooling fan melts and doesn't turn further exasperating the heat issue. It's really obvious when manufacturers don't field test their own tools properly.
