That was helpful. Thanks! Next year I will need to transfer drinking water from a tank in the back of the truck to an RV. Probably 50 gallons or less at a shot, so about ten minutes or so pumping time. Glad to see that the pump is hybrid so that I can either use a battery, or, start up the RV's gen and use AC power.

There is a ton of cool stuff. I wish the batteries were standardized so you could mix and match tools. In truth the battery packs between the brands are the same except for the plugs. I know you have DeWalt stuff (which is a good brand) and they have lots of good tools, but I have decided I am not going to get into another battery platform. That is how they lure you in is with lots of different tools. I am privy to stuff that is coming out and all the big boys have cool 18v tools coming this year.

@@FernbarkFrist NOT enough pressure or lift. Stick with an 12 volt higher pressure RV pump. Not only better BUT way cheaper. A much, MUCH cheaper way to do this is a Harbor Freight immersible sump pump and a 12 volt rechargable battery (OR cigarette light plug to use with a jump starter). I paid 20 bux for my pump. It does over 1000 gallons per hour. Very quiet. BUT for all it's volume, it did NOT have enough pressure and lift to activate a 1.6 gpm instant hot water heater.

The only problem would be it doesn't have a pressure switch, so you have to turn the pump on and off for each use. Please let me know your thoughts on this. I want to use this pump for pumping termiticide into termX or Termstop replenishment reticulation system. Ryobi pump's user manual says the Max Head is 14 metres so I would assume the operating pressure to be 14 metres x 1.42 = 19.88 psi. The termstop reticulation manual says if the reticulation system is buried in sandy soil at a depth of 6 inches the operating pressure is to be apprx 20 psi and if buried in loam soil max 60 psi. Please let me know if I can used this pump for the above mentioned purpose. I want to use this for loam soil conditions. Thanks

Question: I have my boat on a trailer in a storage facility that doesnt allow you to use their power. I actually have a full rain water catcher and my plan was to use one of these transfer pumps to 1. flush my engine with freshwater and 2. wash my boat. Does it provide enough water pressure? It's hard to tell. I have ryobi batteries so this is much cheaper solution for me than the milwaukee one.
@FernbarkFrist
7 жыл бұрын
You could definitely flush your engine. It might provide enough pressure to wash (but not vigorously) but the problem would be it does not have a pressure switch, so you would have to turn the pump off at the pump to stop the motor. So if you wanted to spray, then soap, you would have to stop the pump...soap...turn the pump back on to rinse. If you used a 1/2 inch hose, the pressure might not be too bad. The good thing about the Milwaukee pump is that it is self priming. The Ryobi is not.

What is the suction head. For example if I lower an intake hose down into a 20 foot deep concrete vault, will it suck up the 20 feet and discharge at the 20 foot level?
@FernbarkFrist
5 жыл бұрын
It is the height the pump can pull water up to the pump. If you have a 5 foot head, you can lower the intake 5 feet and still get water to the pump. Lower, and the pump might not be able to pull it. How far it can push the water up after discharging from the pump is another number not related to suction head.
@grassabrutta
5 жыл бұрын
@@FernbarkFrist Yes, understood. I think Tom was actually asking what IS the value the suction head ? Is it 5 ft, 10 ft, 20 ft ? And, what is the maximum delivery height ? You seemed to have the hose head about 10ft above pump height or thereabouts at a guess ... were you able to pump to higher points ? You can find like an Einhell 4180330 GC-GP 8042 ECO Garden Pump (EU or USA) for about 100 bucks. It has a suction height (head) of 26 feet and a delivery height of 140 feet. What do you think ?
