I bought mine six months ago and it clearly said to oil the chain in the instructions, never had an issue with mine it gets used far more than my bigger saws, one of the best tools I have ever bought

How do you oil the chain?
@GuillermoRamon55
4 ай бұрын
just poor oil on the chain back and forth. The extra oil will drip off. Then, use the trigger to have the oil move on the chain. Many mini chainsaws use that method.@@andrewwaterhouse9725

@@andrewwaterhouse9725 Manually. Put oil from a squeeze-bottle directly along the length of it every couple of cuts.

Needs a damn oil reservoir. I am a reseller and have seen 6 that look brand new and don't work in the last week. Trash. Hopefully the 2nd Gen fixes the issue.

Perhaps reading the instruction manual before using would have been a good idea.

I don't think that would help. It was faulty unit . Only 1 example out of thousands made. I wanted to exchange it but they was out of stock at my store.

Thats happened to me a couple of times but i just unscrewed the two adjustment screws and removed any debris stuck inside. Its been working good so far after oiling and cleaning it after each use. No broken chains yet, knock on wood.

I feel like the issue was either debris caught in it, or bc u didn’t oil it. Even tho it says “oil free”, it’s not actually oil free, just no internal tank for oil.

Im wondering if you figured out what happened to the pruning saw. Did you exchange it for a new one? Or just return it? Did you oil the chain before using it? It seemed to be doing good on there small stuff, and that's what it's designed for. Please let me know, I'm still interested in buying one but there isn't that many reviews on it

It said it was a oil less chain. I was going to exchange it but they didn't have anymore. I have always had good results with Ryobi. It had to be a manufacturer defect. This was only one example out of thousands made. Too bad they were out of stock at my store. THANKS FOR WATCHING

I wish it had an automatic oiler or at least a push button manual oiler. It's not a Skill gas saw but it is what it's made for. Take it back to the store and get another one. They do have a 3 year warranty. Be sure to register it.

Is it my imagination or is there an epidemic of Ryobi stuff cutting out and not working again even after a time out or battery change. I've got lots of Ryobi platforms but it seems that the brushless ones are failing.

Here's what I did ... Stihl Dealers sell the "Narrow Cuff .043 Saw Chain" I gave them the drag link count and they cut me 2 chains to fit, about $22 for both. The three chains should last quite awhile. As for sharpening the chains, my Northern Tool $40 saw chain sharpener made them like new again.

If you’ve never owned a real chainsaw, you’ll think this is great. After 15 minutes, the chain came off and it wouldn’t go back on. Total POS, even at the cost of free (w/dual battery purchase)
