I have a Honda 125cc bike and Im starting to avoid using it because i cant stand how loud it is, even after trying to mod it to make it more silent. And its was not loud comparing it to other bikes out there. But I have an EV car and I love how smooth and silent it is, you just hear the wind and your radio and its such a relaxing drive I love it. I am dreaming about having a GOOD eBike someday. Some people really like the smoothness and peacefulness that electric stuff gives while driving, we are not all the same. @@ceestone1 Really depends on the country. Mine has almost more electric chargers than gas stations already. And by law every gas station needs to have an electric charger here. But these bikes are not yet good for a road trip. For that I use a car (be it EV or not). These electric bikes are awesome for daily commutes inside the city where you will save a lot in fuel and the end of the year and have a smooth ride even in heavy traffic. And actually the cheaper eBikes cant really be connected to a public charger, only to your home outlet which I think is a HUGE fail, and really limits your capabilities, and thats mostly why they suck for road trips, unless you buy expensive ones

While the price at $7800 is less than I was expecting (I guessed $9K), I still think I'd rather go with something like a Ninja 400 or MT 07 or something. Im excited to see how this technology develops though when we eventually develop a new battery technology or the current become cheaper. Also, I'm a little worried about the 4.70 ratio model being a little too shortly geared for like 55-60mph highway that we all end up inevitably have to do. That 4.10 model looked a little strained at 55mph. I wish them the best though, I'll definitely keep on eye on them in the future and I hope they do well. We could use some more competition in the electric field. When we eventually get a 0-60 mph in 4-6 seconds at ~50% charge under $6-7K with 100 miles range, I'll be converted. I know it's a lot to ask, but electric motorcycles have some crazy competition versus ICE. Until then it's just really hard to beat the value of a smaller reliable bike that you can get for like $5.5K new, but this company is getting damn close to what I'm looking for. Cheers!

on a global scope 125 class bikes are the broadest market for ev bikes. that top speed seems on par with the market (currently digging around for one, preferably an ybr/cbr/vanvan 125) since the average top speed is between 55-65mph for most, with a few sporty ones pushing 70. at 7.8K it is too steep, indeed. the super soco is sold at what, 4.5k with taxes? Torque is something that needs to be considered a lot on these. i'll pay 7.8K if i get unchanged performance across steep hills on an 1/8th liter bike.

This really gave alot of thought into the design. I like the portable battery, it make alot of sense consider each battery takes hours to charge. You can buy a spare and charge while you use the bike. This should be a standard design for motorcycle and electrical car.
@SilverShadow2LWB
Жыл бұрын
The even bigger option with Ryvid is that you will have the option of using public charging stations with their J plug interface. This something that most other ev's of this size cannot do. The comparative group includes Monday, Huck, Onyx, and Sondors. The spare battery is a nice idea, but at around $3,000, is an option that few of us would consider. I've sat on the bike and I like the feel, one can sense the low center of gravity right away. Vihn the designer is very actively working on the bolt on accessories. Luckily they are less than 2 hours from me, so I will check up on the progress of development. Just for those commenters out there, none of the bikes in this category are made for longer freeway trips. Depending upon the rider size, the Ryvid will go up to 75-80 mph with the higher geared rear pulley, but the bike is too light for safe sustained travel, plus will eat into battery power right away. I see this good for local city thoroughfares at 45-50 mph. The Nio motorscooter has already implemented swappable batteries in public stations in China where a higher proportion of the city travel is by e-scooters. The detachable battery on the Ryvid is mainly designed for apartment dwellers and theft protection.
@marxseet

@@SilverShadow2LWB the problem with current electrical vehicles is that all the companies are creating it own standard to protect their sale. When you standardize the battery charger port, and the battery can commonly switch between car, the battery price would drop. Personally, I think the concept of charging kios ought to be changed. The battery liability should be borne by the manufacturer or at least whoever that own the kios. The kios should already have pre-charged battery in them and when going to these stations, there is a mechanised loader to remove the drained battery and replace it with a fully charged one. With current unstable lithium technology, the risk should not be transferred to the vehicle owner. This is why, the first step is to have an international consensual on the design of the battery so it can fit into all brands of car. This will drastically reduce the cost of the battery. With such a charging facility, you dont even need to charge at home and be subject to fire risk.

@@SilverShadow2LWB thank you...that's what no one talks about...they just say top speed...the zero fxs can do 85...but trust me...above 65 it doesn't inspire confidence...whether from inconsistencies in surfaces or wind...at 275 lbs it's just too light...but the light weight is what gets the acceleration and range out of the batteries available...and the light weight gives confidence to first time riders with entry level riding dynamics,

I’m trying to like it but I just can’t. The drivetrain cover just bothers me. It’s fugly and at this point 75 miles isn’t nearly enough. The technology is there for emotos. Idk I’ll go arctic leopard ex 800 model gets 130 miles of range at 20 so with hard riding Atleast 60-70 miles. This bike up here is NOT getting 75 miles in the real world at road speeds. The shape of the battery is wasted space where you could of added. This would of been cool 2-3 years ago maybe. Especially for a company in America. Having to pay for a level 2. It should be included standard. So yea passing on this.

would you say the Ryvid Anthem or the Land Energy District have a faster 0-60 acceleration? do you know the 0-60 times and which one would you buy? Also do you have a discount code for the Ryvid Anthem?

I just bought the bmw ce04 . It comes with a 8.9 kw battery. The bike itself weighs 500 pounds . But going street speeds of 40 to 50 mph, i get about 60 miles of range . On the highway , going highway speeds , i propably get 40 miles of range . I like that the battery is removable . But electric has its own set of pros and cons . This bike is half the price of the bmw ce04 , and it has the added benefit of easier charging with a removable battery. I love my bmw ce04 , but i kinda wish i bought this instead

There had to be a reason he didn't take the battery off to show you how. My guess is, it's ackward af to do it.

my friend had his towed yesterday after it left him stranded for the 3rd time in 130 miles! he could not turn it off nor get it out of park. tech support did not know how to decode the battery's beeping and flashing lights codes! these engineers need more adult supervision.

Matt: You're one of a few to ride both the Ryvid Anthem and the LAND Moto District. They're priced about the same, but different in a lot of ways. Which of those two do you think makes for a better urban commuter bike? Thanks!
@DesuVR

The Anthem is now cheaper than the District (when spec'd with a similar sized battery option) plus it's got more creature comforts like the seat actuator, wider seat, and storage compartment. Both have optional rear racks, and the District can be spec'd with larger batteries for more range. Anthem is quieter and smoother too (belt drive vs. chain). Me personally, I'd pick the Anthem. I love the look and now it's a better value.

So... equivalent to an upgraded Sur Ron that's **ALOT** heavier and more expensive. And that you need to have licensed, registered, insured and motorcycle endorsement to ride. NOPE. This is why the Sur Ron and Talaria are in such a special 'Goldilocks' place. If you're thinking of buying this, you'd be better off buying a used Zero. As far as the Ryvid... This is why all these startups fail. They just don't understand the space. They are just making fashion accessories for hipsters that don;t know any better.

Gears would reduce range because of friction, it's not that beneficial. It would do more in bigger bikes built for highway, this is not for that.

@@IIARROWS True but it would be nice to have a derailer type of system or equivilent so if you do a lot of highway keep it in the top gear, if you do more city keep it in the lower gear.
