Please turn down your SoC (try within safe 24/7 limits of 1.05-1.15 max). I'd say for a quick reality check of what is "safe" for your CPU core though, put in 1.4V for your VCORE (make sure you know the diff between the voltages and what applies to which component). AMD states 1.4 V should be fine in the system for longevity. Now try to boot in at 42x set in the multiplier. It should honestly be able to achieve this just based on average. Experiment and take some notes, as they will help you identify how to proceed when hitting limits. In this case, please open HWInfo as well when running a benchmark with your overclock to monitor temps and voltages. Determine if the computer is crashing/unstable due to heat/vdroop... With that much voltage though, I'd assume it's probably temperature related... I'm running a 2700X on X370 C6H at only 1.4 volts on a 240 mm AIO... LLC is maxxed though due to vdroop causing crashing without it over prolonged gaming/benching.

My best score with my 1080 ti aorus is 22000 without any overclocking at all. Your stock score with 2700x boosting to 4.35ghz with liquid cooling will be the same as overclocking the cpu to it's max as AMD has already done this out of the box. There's really no difference in between stock and overclock benchmarks with the 2700x. The only thing I don't care about personally with the the 12nm compared to 14nm is that the 2000 series behave like Intel cpus with heat. The 1st cpus overclocked were more stable with heat fluctuation. (of course multicore benches will be higher overclocked but gaming will be the same scores)

I know 1.45 was considered the maximum "sustainable" voltage for every day use, so I wonder if ryzen+ is similar or if because its a smaller fabrication process closer to 1.4 would be safer. just over 1.45 volts for 4.4ghz looks promising though.

Very helpful. Here is one thing I have found, in my five minutes of looking at it: On my MSI X470 Gaming m7 AC, default settings, xmp profile loaded for my memory, a stable and cool system. Running cinebench I get about 1780 - 1800. If I overclock to 4.2 mhz, the results don't change. The default settings push the cpu to 4.2 on there own. If I set it to 4.2, however, I get much higher temperatures than if I leave it auto, because it leaves it at that at all times. In short, the default settings for this chip are pretty interesting and a pretty good compromise. Please correct me if I am wrong!
@dinos22

i did noticed a difference in performance from auto to 4.2 personally. one area where you will see gains is also RAM. In terms of heat, you are probably overvolting CPU at that frequency is it;s getting significantly hotter.

On 2000 series, anything above 1.35 for a long term usage is not recommended. A simple 4.2ghz oc with 1.35v with proper cooling is guaranteed but pushing higher voltage for long term will surely degrade the cpu, unless you have something like a 240 AIO u could push upto 1.38v I think, but temps must be below 70 as 2nd Gen ryzen really starts struggling when temps go above 70

Right now im sitting at 4.1Ghz with my 2700X @1.4vcore with the asus crosshair more difficult then the aorous i had from gigabyte, if i would of known would of stayed with gigabyte but asus i hear is the best. So till i get an AIO liquid cooler im not going any higher.

dinos22 the problem is not Raid...I made tests and the problem is when I enable XMP the motherboard bring’s BOOT led fail and I can’t start the PC, maybe Aorus has problem in BIOS with ssd m.2 and XMP when overclock manual... So I make the overclock and put manual 3200MHz in memory frequency with XMP disabled, but the voltage of the memory is 1.2 so the memory in CPU-Z show me that is 1599.1/16-22-22-54-74-1T. ¿How can I change the voltage to 1.35 to run the memory correctly in 1599.1/14-14-14-34-48-1T with XMP disabled? Thanks sir
@dinos22

Normally XMP set will also set VDIMM voltage. You can manually set it yourself, look at the video around 2:10 mark and you will see DRAM Voltage (CH A/B), just manually type rated voltage for your RAM!

With the CPU VDD18, will increasing that to the voltage of 2.1V damage the cpu over a long period of time? like how AMD suggest not to go above 1.4V on their cpus as it can cause serious damage to the CPUs? Even though it gets the cpu more stable at higher clocks, it does seem quite a high voltage that. I plan on getting myself the 2700X at some point this year and would love to reach 4.4ghz but I dont want the CPU to fail after just a few months of usage at these sorts of voltages though... Thanks for any reply..

lol.. well thanks for the reply! is there much difference in trying it at 2.0 or 1.9V? or do you really need it at 2.1 to be stable at 4.3ghz or 4.4?

I did so many experiments that I ran out of thermal paste. I told amazon about my issue and they refunded me for the cpu and I can keep it since they listed a used item as new. Ill try all those when I get my new stick of thermal paste , that memory was being used at 3200 mhz on my old ryzen 1700x so I doubt its the memory , but just in case ill give it a shot once again and see if I was maybe doing something wrong. Just to make sure , you are using the latest gigabyte bios right? f4g I believe it was called.
