Great stuff! Love the northern subtitles - I'd have been lost without them. Most considerate of you.

well done Garry! I asked you on your last vid about the amount of Barrel weight I used just over what you recomended the 160g having a longer Barrel thought a bit more might help used 175 - 180 worked great thanks for the help. 😁👌👍

Great video Gary and yes it was a “damp” day. I thought there would be flyers in the rain but not necessarily just low shots 🤔. I did notice a lot of water in the feed tray of my HFT 500 which of course was pushed into the barrel when loading, and some shots that I thought I was rock solid on missed. So a steep learning curve.👍 Keep up the videos.

I shot at Furnace Mill yesterday in the rain. The problem I had was the "white smoke" coming out of the barrel and splitter. It was blowing onto my spoke. I saw the same thing on a lot of guns.

No problems with new XTI 50 as there is a button just behind trigger guard that when you press it, it stops raining; brilliant. Air Arms do it again. Worth every penny.

This is just my opinion but my belief is that there are 2 forces that are introduced when shooting in rain. These are vertical and horizontal forces. The vertical is from rain hitting the pellet from above and the horizontal is when a pellet hits a drop square on, through its trajectory. Even though each occurrence is minimal on its own, added up all occurrences must surely have an effect at the target. However minimal. I’ve even think that where the pellet is hit will have an effect. If, by some extreme chance, all drops were to hit the back of the skirt and the pellet hit all drops, say, to the left of the pellet head, then the ‘miss’ would be exaggerated. Put simply, it’s the (further) effect of Newton’s first law. By ‘further’, gravity is the other.

At our range in Concord, CA we shoot under cover all year long, rain or shine or cold. When it is raining, shooting FT is great. Why? Because you can see the rain in your scope and tell immediately the direction and intensity of the wind

I used to visit an ex railway tunnel to check, mainly to eliminate crossover and check windage and pellet drop too. The air was saturated and the result was that the BDC needed to be adjusted when shooting outdoors again, as the shots went high. This could only be put down to the saturated air of the tunnel.

100% it's the air pressure and moisture that causes the drop.

At about 25:33, Chilly looks like a "Readybrek kid" (before your time, Gary) - the moisture on the lens causes the image to bloom (worse for the orange colour) :-) Another great video, Gary. Truly awful weather at Redferns.... you guys are dedicated.

Hi Gary , another excellent show with plenty of food for thought , I was really surprised when You put the pellets into the water , I had expected them to drop maybe 10-12mm because of the weight of water in the cavity of the pellet and the effect of the rain ,- oh well , We all know what Thought did - don't We ? I have a suggestion that You may consider making into a quick video . This episode You filmed at Redferns . On previous videos You have filmed from several different site's and named them , I gather from this video that Redferns is in Yorkshire but other than that I have no clue as to it's location to Me and if its within a reasonable distance ( this is important for those of us who don't own a car) as travel time & costs are often a major obstacle , particularly now that the public transport owners no longer fulfil their remit as a trusted Public service Provider and are more concerned about profits for shareholders . No more Politics back to important stuff - shooting air rifles . Do You think it would be possible to do a quick episode on some approx. locations for some sites in the Northwest of England (Lancashire & West Yorkshire) , I know that shooting grounds won't necessarily want there locations blazed out for all to see and that a quick internet search would do the trick , but I don't have the internet at home , and all My viewing / comments are made at work whilst I have meal & rest breaks & I'm sure there are quite a few more like Me hiding under the crevices away from and only venturing out to sniff the air and grab quick glimpses of what is going on On Line and make the occasional comment . Thanks for another great video , Catch You next time Shoot Straight Stay Safe & Stay Well .

Thanks Gary. I really enjoyed that, as I always do with your content. I'm still going to stay at home rather than shoot in the rain. That looked horrible, and I am a wuss! I felt sorry for your shooting buddy at the end who you teased into missing though. Bad Gary?

Hi Gary. You shot in the 'rain' at 25yds. How long was the distance of rain the pellet travelled through? If that distance was 12.5yds then is it assumed that the drop would be twice what we saw at 25yds of rain?
