국내 벤처투자 미국•영국보다 회복세 뚜렷 고금리는 우려
As uncertainty around interest rates continues, the South Korean government is turning its attention to supporting startups and businesses outside the capital region.
At an economic ministerial meeting on Monday, Finance Minister Choi Sang-mok unveiled plans to create a venture capital fund worth 2-point-8 trillion Korean won - or just over 2 billion U.S. dollars.
This comes as venture investment in the first quarter of the year showed a recovery - rising by six percent compared to the same period last year - despite the government's assessment that economic uncertainties remain.
A fund solely dedicated to non-metropolitan areas will also be set up, and a comprehensive policy for venture investment will come in the second half of the year.
