I got the same gun recently which had the same fault. It's a small latch on the right side of the "bolt" (underneath) hooking onto a lever. During assembly sometimes this latch ends up ontop of the lever and looks it firmly into place. Just open it up, slide the latch sligthly forward (there is a dent on the side of the bolt) and with it the problem. On a sidenote: really nice that the whole gun and internals are all made out of metal.

Send it back. But it is a beautiful replica of the real steel version. My grandfather used these in the Pacific theater during WW2 along with the bazooka and shotgun that you showed. He was qualified on 10+ plus weapons. My other grandfather served in the European theater as a french translator.

Chris Britton I️ doubt it as the rocket launcher required 2 people the shotgun was limited to generals or high ranking medics he most likely used the grease as it was widely used but unless he swerved 1942-1945 he would not have been a rifleman a tank destroyer and a medic

I believe it would be a great piece to add to your collection as it is a perfect resemblance to the German Sturmgewehr. Also, if you were review it, there would be a perfect review online for the gun. Keep up the great work Mike, love the WW2 Weapons.

GM's (General Motors) Buick headlamp division slamed out around 3.6 million M3A1's for the war effort in a six month period; about half wound up in foreign armories as part of the lend-lease arms agreement the allied forces had durring WW-II. The M3A1 was developed as a more cost and time effective to alternative the Thompson M1A1, primarily issued to tankers and paratroopers and back-line/support troops alonside the M1 Carbine. The M3A1 was a little late to the party seeing limited use in WW-II, it was a hero in the Pacific where it's looser tolerances left it unhindered by sand and dust. I stress LIMITED USE. Those that had or were issued M3A1's adored them, nicknamed "The Grease Gun" due to its resemblance to the common mechanics tool, it was also responsible for the prolifiration of the turn of phrase to "grease" somebody. The M3A1 would see continued service with U.S. Forces and would be issued to allied conscription forces during the Korean War, Vietnam, Granada, the British would make use of their Lend-Lease acquired M3A1's in the Falklands, the M3A1 would continue on as an ever-ready compatriot to sailors, tankers, and rear echelon untill the end of the first Desert Storm conflict when the ever-faithful M3A1 was retired from service. It still sees use to day with Central American counter-terrorist units and law enforcement.
